María Clara es una excelente host. Su amabilidad y disposición para resolver cualquier duda o inquietud es de resaltar. El acceso al Chalet es un poco complicado y no está muy señalizado, la carretera es complicada por lo que es mejor ir en camioneta o en un carro alto, en épocas de lluvia puede ser un poco complicado llegar. La casa está equipada con lo necesario y tiene una buena cocina a gas para cubierta preparación. El cuarto con mayor capacidad es un altillo al que se accede por una escalera empinada y no tiene baño, lo cual puede ser un limitante para personas adultas, niños o con alguna discapacidad. Es un lugar perfecto para desconectarse un rato y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Es importante llevar todo lo necesario pues no hay tiendas cerca en caso de que se necesite comprar algo de urgencia.

After a week in a tropical region of Colombia, I was excited to arrive in the mountainous region of Tinjaca. Especially since Maria Clara had been so helpful and responsive when I contacted her. But I was not prepared for just how beautiful it was there! And the accommodations are amazing, with tremendous artistic flair and traditional construction methods, which Maria Clara's husband, Hugo, will be happy to discuss with you. I arrived in Tinjaca by bus rather late in the day and Hugo picked me up in town. He has an unusual vehicle! I don't wish to spoil the surprise, so you will just have to see for yourself! At this point you would do well to pick up any supplies you might require, as their lovely home is a bit remote. I'm thinking beer/wine/cigarettes/snacks. Maria Clara is going to feed you well, but think about what else you might desire to have along. It was dark when we arrived at the finca. Maria Clara and Hugo served me a lovely dinner and got me settled in for the night. When I awoke the next morning, I was amazed by the beautiful vistas and the crisp, bright day. It truly is the "best climate in the country." I went on many hikes and walkabouts; I just couldn't get enough of the terrain and the fantastic weather! At every turn I found something to captivate me. If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you! There are orchards and fields with crops, stone fences and mysterious trees and flowers, dairy cows and burros, and the occasional friendly ranch hand. There are wide winding roads, and narrow rocky paths climbing up the mountainside. Maria Clara is a wonderful cook and a warm and caring individual. She is always looking out for your comfort. Hugo is equally charming, with a great sense of humor. There are three dogs on the property, though two are quite shy. The third dog, however, will gladly accompany you on your hiking adventures. You may or may not share the studio/guesthouse with others. For most of my visit there were five of us sharing this unique dwelling. I was sorry to see the others go, as we had a lot of fun together. And the space is huge! Since it was Hugo's birthday, we had a large gathering of people, with much music and merriment. Honestly, I had very little interest in leaving this place and had already spotted a small house where I dreamed of living. But of course I did leave, eventually. Maria Clara and Hugo gave me lots of helpful advice for the next leg of my journey and took me back to Tinjaca to catch the bus. I can recommend a stay here without hesitation. Maria Clara and Hugo are fantastic hosts and so very interesting to meet. I truly enjoyed this experience!
