Jacana River Lodge is a child friendly luxurious breakaway for families and friends. Being part of the greater Kruger National Park, Mjejane Private Nature Reserve brings the Big Five onto your doorstep. 5 en-suite bedrooms, each with their own bar fridge, tee/coffee station, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, every bedroom can be utilized according to our guests needs. Jacana River Lodge is wheelchair friendly with a dedicated "handy capped" bedroom and bathroom, as well as spacious open plan living area, kitchen, dining room and lounge. The kitchen is fully furnished with a double door fridge-freezer, gas stove, microwave oven, nespresso machine and more. You can choose between two covered braai areas or the boma. Jump into our stylish rimflow swimming pool while enjoying the view and wildlife on the banks of the Crocodile river. A separate entertainment room is equipped with a pool table, mini gym & television. A jungle gym awaits the energetic children in the quad. Jacana River Lodge is serviced daily excluding Sundays and public holidays.

There seriously are no words to describe this place. Every positive review does not do this place justice. Our stay here was so incredible, the house the animals, our host, the park - all of it. We saw so many animals driving in to the park and all almost didn’t next to the car. We also watched animals by the river every day. 12 stars!!!!
Gorgeous, spacious lodge with views of the river and lots of animals - rhinos, elephants, impalas. We loved our stay here. The layout was perfect for our large family. The pool a highlight of each day. Kitchen is spacious and well stocked. The house is a 20 minute drive to the main Mjejane gate. Make sure to follow the directions not your GPS in the reserve. Very quiet. We didn’t see another person on the reserve. Make sure to take a game drive with the Jacana Lodge vehicle. We loved that.
Our second time at Jacana Lodge, as always we had a magical stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Lets call this place " A little bit or Paradise" Wow, wow, wow, we were left speechless. This was an amazing family getaway in celebration of my parent's 40th wedding anniversary, and we can proudly say we made their celebration that much more amazing. Mariska's place is phenomenal, such a great homey feeling, absolutely beautiful views, attention to detail in everything and so comfortable. Mariska is an amazing host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing and even recommended restaurants. Her team Thandeka, Jomo and Laurika are just as amazing and made sure we felt right at home. We enjoyed the wild life, just at our doorstep, the beautiful sunsets and peaceful nights. This home is well thought out - everything one needs. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us, it indeed a little paradise and we cant wait to come back.

Wildlife, including the Big 5 move freely between the Kruger National Park and Mjejane Private Nature Reserve. Activities in the area include Mjejane Bush Walks, golf at Leopard Creek Country Club, the elephant experience at Jabulani Safari, Chimp Eden, Graskop Gorge Lift, Panorama Route and much more.
Wildlife, including the Big 5, roam freely between the KNP and Mjejane Private Game Reserve. Jacana River Lodge has its own private, exclusive game viewing vehicle to enjoy +- 4000 hectares of the Mjejane Private Game Reserve. The vehicle can take up to 10 x guests and the costs for this is R1500.00 per group for a 3-hour (approx.) game view either in the morning from 07:00 or in the afternoon from 16:00. Bookings needs to be made three days in advance as we make use of one of the reserves game rangers.
