Paola and Luigi are outstanding hosts. During my stay they have always replied my queries promptly and provided me with valuable tips particularly on local restaurants. The flat is perfectly located, close to Otranto as well as to some of the most beautiful beaches in Salento. The house is very spacious, accurately designed with a lot of beautiful details (e.g. photographs and drawings). The atmosphere is staggeringly relaxing and we have loved using the outdoor area for dining and reading. The flat was professionally cleaned and attention was paid to Airbnb policies and recommendations with regard to Covid19. I strongly recommend casa Cellina !
While the house is indeed very nice we had multiple issues during our stay. The location was off by 8km (we were told we’d be staying in Otranto), there was only 1 bathroom and 1 small toilet room - not two full bathrooms as was stated in the listing. And some of the furniture was unsafe (one person in my party hurt themself when the chair they were sitting in suddenly snapped). When we reported these issues to Airbnb the host retaliated by accusing us of theft and damage, two allegations that were completely untrue. Such a shame that this stay ended up this way as the house itself really is very nice and I do believe the host Paola is a good person.

Noto un tempo come Casino Marotta, l’edificio dell'antica Masseria La Lazzara nasce come casino di caccia nel '700. Realizzato in pietra leccese e carparo, materiali tipici del Salento, l'edificio conserva, con le sue volte a stella e gli ambienti rustici, il fascino tipico delle dimore di campagna di Terra d'Otranto. La Masseria è immersa in un paesaggio splendido e incontaminato, in una terra accogliente e serena. È stata oggetto di un intervento di restauro realizzato dall’architetto Umberto Riva nel rispetto dell'ambiente storico e naturale. L'edificio della Masseria e due appartamenti facenti parte di un complesso nuovo progettato sempre da Umberto Riva, sono oggi disponibili come rifugio sereno per una vacanza tranquilla e suggestiva in uno tra i luoghi più incontaminati del Salento.
