We only stayed for a single night as a layover for a connecting flight in Cochin. After having stayed for one night we realized we could have easily stayed for a week. The pictures make it justice but it is even more beautiful in reality. We felt very welcome immediately and got to meet the hosts as well as one of their children and a grandchild. They were so accommodating it almost felt like being part of family immediately. They were even up at 6AM to see us off for our flight. Jose also took us out on the river. To top it all off, the food was absolutely delicious and the pineapple they grow there was the best we’ve had.

Our family spent ten lovely days at this very private & well appointed home. The location & surroundings of this homestay are priceless. Although barely 30 minutes from Cochin international Airport by taxi, you are on the banks of an unspoiled stretch of the Periyar river as it emerges from the foothills of the Western Ghats, with dense tropical jungles that are a part of a forest reserve across the water where herds of elephants can often be spotted. You will hear no road traffic—only the sounds of nature. The food options were outstanding & hosts Jose & Gigi are superb! We hope to be back here again!

A very beautiful homestay. The host was very friendly. Visited the place with family and enjoyed alot. Highly recommended especially if you are looking for a peaceful place.

Our whole family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful company on our little excursions, the fantasticly tasty food, the impeccable cleanliness of everything and most of all for the grand and loving atmosphere provided by hosts Giji and Jose as well as their staff Nithin, Susan and Baby. Our small kids loved spending time with all of them and we found a home here. We loved the boat trips, the kayaking, the amazing views on Periyar river and on the wild elephants living on the island just in front of the bedroom window! WOW! To top it all off Giji unspiced her food for us so the kids could and would actually eat it - and it tasted delicioussss. Jose’s suggestions and company on our excursions were spot on. They understand the needs of their guests and adapt accordingly. So we once again would like to express our appreciation for everything they provided: thank you!

We had a fantastic time with Jose and Giji. They were warm and wonderful. They have a beautiful home and I would highly recommend the stay.
