We loved the cottage. It was even better than the photos. It was cosy in the cool evenings. Very peaceful by the loch, many birds to see out of the kitchen window. Our dog loved exploring amongst the rocks. Beautiful and quiet part of the island.

Although it states that John and Hylda are the hosts, after the booking I was referred to the Island Holiday Cottages office and then to the actual owner of the cottage so this was confusing who to get in touch with in first place. The listing states that there was WiFi and upon phoning the office I was assured there was WiFi;however, the internet was pretty much non-existing, which was frustrating as I had to work for 2 days and unfortunately I wasn’t able to. In the evenings we also wanted to relax and watch movies but this was not possible due to no signal, limited number of channels and well-used DVDs that did not work. The actual router is in the big cottage next door. Upon contacting the owner, they kindly moved it closer to our cottage but it didn't help. It also be good to upgrade some kitchen amenities - no large pots or bowls to cook and eat a soup. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic. We had oir dog and all of us enjoyed the big garden.

The cottage is in an excellent location, close to many beach walks. The bed was comfortable and the place was warm. The host was quick to respond to questions. There is a local SPAR about 10 minutes walk from the cottage and it is well stocked. The place is about an hour and a half drive from Tobermory and 10 minute drive from Fionnphort. The listing said there was WiFi. However, the internet at the cottage was almost non existent. We spent most of the day out exploring beautiful Mull, and we wanted to come home to watch movies, read the news and plan the next days’ walks. This wasn’t possible. I contacted the host who informed me that internet access is spotty on the isles. We have had the good fortune to visit many of Scotland’s western isles (included much more secluded Outter Heberdies) and never had a problem. I think the main issue was that the cottage was using the main house’s (a B&B) signal, which made it weak. If you want a place completely cut off from the world to really get away from it all, this is a good shout. The kitchenware could use some investment from the host. Very blunt knives and no large lidded pot in which to make soup, pasta, or curry in after a long days walk.
