Great place to get away from the crowds and relax. Please note it is remote and off the grid. It took us a couple of days to adjust, but after this was quite enjoyable. Our trip highlight was multiple boat rides out to the reef with local tour guide Vic who lives next to the resort. The reef was great for snorkelling with nearby place for white sand swimming. Vic can also take you to the waterfalls!
A perfect stay at Barnes Beach Resort. Thanks to Ken, Mayette, and Cuya Mario for their kindness and hospitality. We are working on getting our house built up the road so maybe next year we will be neighbors instead of guests!
If you're after a place among nature away from the tourists, this is it. I stayed for 9 days to relax as well as get some work done, so it was perfect for me. A nearby neighbour Kuya Vic is part-time tour guide for the place and happy to show you places around, he's great. There are plenty of things to see around, but don't expect it to take your whole day, you can then spend time reading in a hammock or swimming in the sea at your doorstep. It can be noisy at times with the animals or neighbour's music, but I still had a lovely time. The food was great, and everyone went out of their way to make sure I was as comfortable as possible.

I was born and raised in Rizal, Palawan, Philippines. I attended college in Cebu City, Philippines. After college, I went to the United States to work. While living and working in Florida, I met my husband Ken. We fell in love and were quickly married (about 5 months later). A year later we had our first child (Kyla now 8). Since then we have had two more daughters, Kate now 6 and Klara now 3. About a year and a half ago, I brought my husband and daughters to visit Rizal, and they immediately fell in love with it. The culture, my family, the beauty of the island and its waters, really everything about it. So much so that we purchased the beach property where our Lodge is located. After we returned to Florida we immediately began to execute a plan to move to Palawan and build this Barnes beach Lodge. We just had to go back. And now we are proud to open our little peace of paradise to you and your family. This is something we feel we need to share with others. Barnes Beach Lodge, Helping Tribe community, self sufficient, food, family clothing,Kid toys and exporting good at Malakibay Tribe and Tab-yunan Tribe community. My life motto is: Life is short, make the time to spend it with your loved ones as much as you possibly can.
