First and foremost, Nuno and Isabel are some of the best hosts we’ve ever stayed with. Their instructions were clear and they were extremely responsive throughout our stay. The good: The location and view are incredible. It’s a very busy location with lots of people but the windows do a great job of keeping most of the noise out. The apartment has a tankless hot water heater, which means unlimited hot water. This was a nice treat given some other places we stayed in had small tanks. The elevator was nice to have as well. The bad that ended up good: As others have mentioned, the linen/towel service does a very poor job. The towels didn’t smell bad but were clearly dried on a line and were very stiff. Fortunately, after bringing this to the attention of Nuno and Isabel, they provided fresh, soft, clean towels. Isabel also got a bed top sheet for us and actually made our bed!! The bad that couldn’t be fixed: the bed mattress is awful. It is thin and the springs can actually be felt.

we stayed in the castle view apartment, and really enjoyed our time there. The location was great. Very central to Bairro Alto and Baixa, and a short distance from Alfama. It was also walkable to Time Out market, which was great for us. Staying on the topic of location, it's great if you want easy access to the nightlife of Bairro Alto, but without being in the middle of it. If you like shopping (we don't really care about it, but some do), then this is a place for you. The fact that this apartment building had an elevator was really nice after walking up 5 floors of stairs and 3 floors of stairs at the two prior places we'd stayed. The check-in instructions provided on the app on the day we arrived were very clear, and the hosts were very communicative. We felt the roof was clean, and had no issues.
