We stayed here for almost a month. With all of the big, modernized spaces in Buffalo Bay it is hard to come by a nice, simple, livable space that reminds us of the cottage feel this beach town had when I was growing up: where you spend all day down on the beach and only come up for meals. Askoek, while basic in amenities and architecture has one of the most beautiful and iconic views of Buffalo Bay. Whether you are taking the quick stroll down to catch some sun or waves, or just watching the dolphins move through the bay while relaxing on the covered front porch, this little cottage really does make a pleasant home away from home. If you've got a little bit of the slow life spirit in you come and stay here. Magru is also incredibly responsive and gave us all the information we needed to get set up, she even dropped by to check that we had settled in successfully. Can't wait to come back next year.

There was a noticeable musty/ moldy smell in the cabin and we had to leave earlier than expected, due to health concerns. Our clothes all had musty smell after being in the cupboard/ drawers. We unfortunately were not given a refund. There are mice and lots of ants in the home. The location of the house is excellent but price not worth it for the above mentioned concerns.

What a little gem this cottage is. Clean, comfy, with everything you need and an incredible expansive view, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you Magru! Your place is amazing!!

For a small family of 3 this was a perfect getaway, on the beach and the shop and restaurants. Buffelsbay is a gem to be discovered by anyone. The house is a surfers dream and a group of friends would love this place. The host is very accommodating and it was a fantastic stay. We will surely be back.
