The place was as described. We stayed there for a week and I think it is more suited for a weekend stay. The space was small, pretty clean, but kitchen and bath were outdated and there were quite a few Knick knacks that filled the space and made it feel cluttered and smaller. I felt safe in the area and it was quiet and private. The beach was a short walk which was great. Walking into town was 1.4 miles but we were not in a hurry so it was fine. Be very careful if you walk or ride your bikes in the street, especially at night. It’s very dark and not much space to walk on the side of the road. The view from the back deck was nice and overall, it was a decent stay. Folly beach is kinda funky and fun. Check out Bert’s grocery store- great local business!

In planning our vacation to Savannah & Charleston we wanted two different type of atmospheres for our stay. In Savannah we stayed in a place in the historical district. For our stay for our visit to Charleston we choose Kara's cottage at Folly Beach. We're were not disappointed with our decision! We loved the cottage. It's perfect for a couple. It cute, cozy & comfortable with a back deck with nice views of the wetlands, river & birds which we enjoyed with our morning coffee & drinks in the late afternoon. There's no view of the beach & ocean but it's only a 5 minute walk to the beach. The cottage is nicely decorated in a beach motif. The room sizes are not large but roomy enough for two people. It was a peaceful, relaxing & enjoyable stay at Kara's cottage. We very pleased with stay at Kara's cottage & would definitely stay again! Meeting Kara & her mom was pleasant. Lastly, the drive into Charleston & back to Kara's beach cottage was an easy 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Couldn't say enough good things about the place. Loved the setting, the house, the neighbourhood. Kara and her family met all our needs and provided us with a great stay.

Such a sweet place and perfect for a beach adventure! We rented bikes and never really had to drive given the proximity of the place to town. Great weekend!
