We loved staying here! Super cute place and it was super relaxing for a quick summer trip! We got to see some new lambs, cows, and meet the bee guy who let us buy some of the local honey! Super awesome place for the price and would 10000% come back!
We had an amazing time staying at the farm. Mark was super friendly and helpful. The tiny house was everything we expected and more! We felt right at home and loved how cozy and inviting the house was plus it was so peaceful and relaxing being on the farm. We plan on coming back for a longer stay someday!
It is the most welcoming Airbnb we've ever experienced. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, condiments and spices, even all the ingredients for s'mores! There was plenty of firewood for the fire pit, and all the tools needed to make kindling and start the fire. The "book" explained everything necessary for the tiny house, including how to start the generator if the battery ran down, which it did. Mark was there when we checked in, and on the second day to help my wife fulfill her dream of hugging a Highland cow. Mark and E.J. were very friendly to us city folk in explaining the farm. I'm certain this is not the getaway for everyone, but it was just what my wife and I needed! Extremely pleasant experience!
highland house was just amazing. the surroundings were absolutely beautiful & peaceful. the house itself was perfect & had everything you could possibly need. the views were great & you could see the cows outside. we found the house very comfortable & it was a great place to stay with your dog. Mark is a fantastic host & we were so grateful that he introduced to the cows.
I am blown away by this quaint house. I wanted to take my dog on a vacation before she got too old (she’s 10) and this seemed like the perfect spot. We utilized the hiking trail, hung out with the animals and went to local breweries. The hospitality Mark showed us was unbeatable. I highly recommend this house if you are looking to get away and be at one with nature.

自我介绍
After a long white collar career in commercial real estate, I started raising Scottish Highland cattle in 2008 and doing real estate consulting work in struggling old steel towns southeast of Pittsburgh. Today I co-own (along with Dana O'Connor) Pittsburgher Highland Farm. We raise grass-fed Scottish Highland and Red Devon cattle as well as chickens, bees, fruit and produce on two farms near New Stanton PA. In addition to our own beef and eggs, we also market grass-fed lamb and pastured pork that we buy from trusted fellow sustainable farmers. We added Highland House to the mix in 2014 and starting inviting folks to come enjoy what we experience every day. Having grown up on a dairy farm, this endeavor has brought me full circle. I've always liked being outdoors doing things like running, hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing and skiing, and now I get to do it every day! When not at the farm I live near Pittsburgh with my husband (also Mark) and our dog Bentley. Dana, Mark and I hope you enjoy the Tiny House Big Farm Adventure. It is our goal to create a relaxing atmosphere amidst a regenerative environment for everyone to experience. We encourage all to know your food sources and know your farmers and hope that your stay with us is a step toward doing just that!
