Our stay at Chris's Tsavo House was a truly memorable one. Chris and his caretaker Wilson extended a warm welcome, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The house is situated in a wonderfully peaceful area, providing a tranquil setting for a relaxing getaway. While the overall experience was delightful, we did notice that some areas of the house could benefit from a bit of maintenance and updates to certain furnishings. However, this did not detract significantly from our enjoyment of the stay. On the upside, the house is well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and Wilson's assistance throughout our visit was invaluable. We wouldn't hesitate to return for another relaxing night. Thank you, Chris and Wilson, for hosting us.
Chris was a friendly, communicative, welcoming and flexible host. The house is really unique and in a great location near the SGR and Tsavo. We had a nice stay and wished we could’ve stayed longer.

Tsavo House was everything we could have wished for……. peaceful, secluded, clean, homely. Sitting on the veranda amongst the plants listening to the crickets was a delight. Chris was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the areas flora and fauna. Wilson was wonderful and kept us clean and tidy. This was the perfect break for us between Nairobi and the coast.
This man was made with love and passion . Passion for people , for art, for eco tourism , for architecture and for humanity. From the moment we arrived at the train station we were greeted with a smile and immediately felt at home . Chris has been in Kenya his entire life with generations before him so his knowledge of the land and the people is extraordinary . Our day exploring Tsavo East National park did not feel like a guided tour but more like a ride down a dirt road with friends . Our conversations were effortless and the information was endless. We walked the markets together with ease and felt safe and comfortable as Chris is fluent in Swahili . The property is something you can only dream of and if you have the time and desire - sit and talk to Chris about how he built it - it’s fascinating. The man is far too humble for the amount of education and life experience he has ! I don’t think we are going to top this stay or this experience but this sweet countryside home has our 💕s
