Six of us (3 couples) stayed here for 5 days. It is exactly like the pictures…clean, pretty view, comfortable. Like everything on Providencia (Providence), it has its quirks, but we all found it very charming. The house is big enough, though, that we had privacy and yet wonderful places to hang out together. I would stay here again. We took advantage of Juan’s offer to get the services of Maritza during our stay. She made us breakfast every morning (even two mornings very early due to SCUBA diving), cleaned the place every day, made recommendations, arranged for us to get “mules” to get around on the island, and even arranged pick up for us on our last day so we could get back to the airport. Take advantage of her services if you stay. She is sweet and funny and really added to our stay. The water right in front of the house is a beautiful view, but we didn’t swim there. There are a couple of really nice beaches very close by. Great place for a large group!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Juan. L’emplacement est idéal et la maison était très fonctionnelle, confortable et très bien placée. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Alicia, qui était super ! Nous recommandons ce logement 😊

La casa de Juan es tal y como se ve en las fotos. Hay una vista al mar muy bonita y cuenta con los servicios necesarios para pasar una estadía agradable. Alicia y Maritza que son las encargadas de cocina y aseo, respectivamente, son muy atentas; Alicia (encargada) procura que las solicitudes y soluciones a los inconvenientes se den con la mayor rapidez posible, igual que Juan. Alicia cocinó delicioso! No dejen de comer la langosta al ajillo y de practicar snorkelling y buceo. Es importante tener vehículo para moverse de un lugar a otro. Finalmente quiero dejar una nota al pie: Cuando se va a este tipo de turismo se tiene que tener claro por parte de nosotros, los turistas, que existen situaciones particulares propias de las condiciones del lugar, así que recomendamos entender el entorno en el que se está y ser un poco flexibles frente a cualquier situación que se pueda presentar.

Juan ci ha dato tutte le istruzioni necessarie per arrivare a casa sua, siamo stati accolti calorosamente da Roberto e Alicia, ottima cuoca per una cena a base di aragoste preparata da lei, che ci ha mostrato la casa e dato molti consigli utili per esplorare l’isola. Juan ci aveva già anticipato i contatti di riferimento per noleggiare i motorini e fare un giro esplorativo in barca dell’isola per vedere magnifici coralli e pesci colorati, Alicia ci ha aiutato a contattarli appena arrivati a casa.

Let's get the most important point out of the way - would we stay here again? Definitely! The place is spacious, has all the amenities you need, and internet was good enough to keep two kids busy on YouTube and online gaming when needed. The island is very small, so to get from the house to the main spots is easy by cart (no need to rent a car). Now for the fine-print. Providencia is a beautiful island with parts still recovering from the hurricane, but they have come a long way already. Nothing impacted our stay negatively. Do be aware that this is not your typical Caribbean island with 5-star resorts and restaurants. Taking this into account, I would rate the house in the upper-range of middle class, based on the other houses I saw on the island. The pictures do make the house look a bit better than in real-life, and it could be cleaned a bit better as another reviewer mentioned. But nothing that even comes close to being a deal-breaker and Juan is an absolute rockstar as a host!
