Fatma is a wonderful and kind hostess. She waited up for us even though we got in late at night. You can tell she loves the island she lives on, once arriving she immediately sat us down, showed us a map, and explained everything on the island and what to see and do. The room is simple but nice. Bring any toiletries you may need, none are provided. Island is made of all dirt roads, be prepared to walk a few minutes from the ferry to get to the accommodations. Lots of steps involved at the ferry and at her house too, keep in mind if lots or heavy luggage. We were disappointed that no breakfast was offered like was mentioned in the description, we were happy and prepared to pay the extra fee. Otherwise a cool experience to stay and see what a Nubian residence was like.

A gem of a place! The airbnb is located in a traditional Nubean house, beautifully decorated with local folklore and spotlessly clean. Fatma and her parents were wonderful hosts. The stay included a tour of the house with in depth explanation of Nubean symbolism and traditions, bottom of the house also hosts a museum. All hosts spoke great English, Fatma was a great hostess, very communicative and extremely helpful. We arranged our Abu Simbel trip through her and it was a real treat. The village is gorgeous and very relaxing and quiet, wouldn't stay anywhere else in Aswan. Going to the mainland is extremely easy, there are ferries at all times, very cheap and takes no time. WiFi was great and breakfasts were delicious. Very unique experience, highly recommended!
