Très bon séjour à la Féranchie ! Le jardin et la piscine sont particulièrement agréables. Excellente communication avec Helen !

We loved our time at La Feranchie and despite poor weather had plenty to do and enjoy at the house and in the surrounding areas. Wonderful provisions left on arrival including home baked banana bread. Small niggles mostly unavoidable - creaky floorboards, 1 upstairs bathroom & 1 downstairs for 10, couple of rickety kitchen chairs just needed attention and a wobbly top banister. The kitchen drawers full of useful things, even spare batteries! The whole house was more like someones's home than a rental. Barns were open and full of farm clutter which could have been a hazard with younger children but we were fine. Some of the bikes worked and others best left alone. Mark was very helpful and arranged to replace the cooker when it didn't work and tripped the fuses 30 times! Bit frustrating as we couldn't BBQ because of the rain but all worked out well in the end. A beautiful pool, lovely quiet location. Need a car as v remote. We went to the Kayak lakes and towns nearby. Loved them all!

If you're lucky enough to see this house as available, don't hesitate, just book it! We spent an amazing 1 month. Hosts we're very responsive and even bought some wine and food for our arrival, so thoughtful! The house was large and comfy with everything we needed. Each bedroom had fresh linens and plenty of storage for our clothes. Lots of towels were provided for the shower and the pool. The kitchen was very well stocked: pots, pans, bowls, baking dishes, egg beater, rolling pin... The kitchen is a large room with a table seating 6-8 and even a couch. There another dining table in the living room, 3 tables outside for al fresco dining and a barbecue. The wifi works in the kitchen and the master bedroom (the walls are too thick to allow wifi in the other rooms) but we worked from those 2 rooms and had no problem doing conference calls. One bathroom is one the ground floor and the other one on the 1st floor: both have spacious showers. Please note there is no trampoline anymore, and the little tree house is also shut down for safety reasons. This was no big deal, the kids had plenty of things to do. The beautiful heated pool is surrounded by nature, we spent a lot of time there in the water, on the lounge chairs, or playing table tennis. The hosts even provided floaties and toys. On the days it was raining we used the 2 fireplaces which warmed up the house nicely (lots of dry wood is provided in the barn). The surrounding area is very serene, perfect for nature walks or bike rides. We went to the farmers markets in nearby towns (Piegut on Wednesdays and St-Junien on Thursdays), the "Intermarche" supermarket at Rochechouart is just 10min away, and the bakery at Massignac (also 10min) has wonderful croissants. We also enjoyed paddling and kayaking on the nearby Lac Lavaud, which you can rent at the Base Nautique (watersports rentals) at Verneuil - 15min drive. Insider tip: there is a blackcurrant bush growing against one of the barn walls. We made delicious pies and desserts with the berries.

We had a really FANTASTIC time at La Féranchie! The house is immense, perfectly clean, with super-comfortable beds, and includes a great snooker table, the green spaces, garden and view on country-side are huge and beautiful and the pool made adults and kids the happiest ever. A tons of equipments are available on sight to enrich our stay. We had a perfect relaxing time and we felt so good in this place that we barely moved anywhere else. Communication with Mark and Helen also went perfect. We fully recommend La Féranchie to groups of friends and families. Thanks again to Helen, Mark and their parents for this lovely time.

Superbe logement dans un petit hameau isolé très tranquille. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Helen et Marc ont été très réactifs, avec des attentions lors de notre arrivée. Le père de Marc se trouvait à proximité du logement et nous a accueilli très gentiment. Il est resté très discret tout le long du séjour mais pouvait être là en cas de problème. très bonne communication avec les propriétaires. Chaines anglaises uniquement sur la télévision. Visites d'Angoulême, Limoges, château de Rochechouart et oradour à moins d'une heure. Des randos très sympas à faire à proximité également. Deco particulière mais logement très confortable. Nous recommandons vivement cette location!! Excellent séjour entre amis. Merci!
