What a place! Incredible views 180 degrees looking out from Villa. Peaceful and scenic walks nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. We really enjoyed our stay there with our two kids (8 and 4). Only neg is slight damp smell in bedrooms (hard to avoid in climate) but we kept windows open and used mosi net and was ok. Surprisingly not many mosquito there. Recommend if want some time in nature / peace / relaxation with stunning views.

What stands out the most about this place is the staff. The manager, Wayan, was very helpful with all of our needs, helping us plan trips to Ubud and the surrounding area, as well as making sure us and the kids had everything we wanted. The rest of the staff was superb as well - the chef made amazing food, the gardeners interacted with the kids (and even took us on a walk through the rice fields), and Putu, the attendant, was great at setting everything up for us.

Wow! We found a hidden gem! Not usually users of air b&b but needed it to access as many villas as possible and filter then after our needs and the side did a great job so we signed up as first time users as soon as we saw villa pondok surya, it just stood out amongst all the others, especially the infinity pool shooting into the rice fields below. We didn’t have much else to go on, as the information was rather spares. But once communication with Red Lotus (rental) started, they were quick in answering all my questions and step by step I discovered, how much the villa had to offer! Breakfast is included! So is daily return car ride to Ubud! Hug benefits as we don’t all roll around on scooters when visiting Bali, and with the dark narrow streets a local driver is always a bonus! We were met as agreed at the airport, smooth drive across the island, gave us time to just relax and take in the beauty, without having to worry about getting lost or navigating the crazy busy traffic. Arrival at the villa, now that’s what I call a WOW moment! The photos can’t possibly live up to the lush green beauty of the grounds! The views, the sounds! Wow! Wayan the villa manager and his team welcomed us, with cocktails and snacks. He made it very clear that everything was on our permits, whatever worked for us or whatever we needed, he and his team would get done, and boy did he keep his promise! The balance of not being seen but always being near by when needed, the honest, kind, well meant, good hearted, wanting to be there, attitude of the villa team was, really nice! The villa was huge, especially as we were only 2 people. We LOVED the villa, the team and the location and only visited Ubud for a few hours as we were only staying at the villa for 2 nights and wanted to make the most of every minute, never even switched on the tv, because the light, sound and views was drawing us in. Imagine laying at the edge of an infinity pool, looking over rice fields into the rainforest, watching the farmers at their work. Or taking a bath, in the unique wood bath whilst watching the sunset, or taking an early outdoor shower at 06.00 am, listening to the animals wake up and the chanting coming from the near by temple. Imagine walking around the gardens spoiled for choice where to practice yoga or meditate. Imagine a chef keeping an eye out for you coming down for breakfast, so if you are 5 minutes late, nothing is left out to go cold. Imagine a driver dropping you off in town and collecting you as ur suits you. The villa is originally build of only the finest materials, as a private residence of an American family, no expense spared and it shows! Real Balinese times in the pool, reflecting the light like no other tiles can! The craftsmanship of the wooden bridge or bathtub, the lighting, the airflow… The setting, at the end of a small lane, with no much else the fields and Forrest as neighbours. Have you notice how commercial, the new build holiday rental villas are in the Ubud area? Like pearls on a string, no garden, no privacy, no Balinese timed pools, way too close to towns, cities or tragic? None of all that mass tourism at villa pondok surya! At last holiday, we were staying in a €5.500 a night signature suite, at the Danieli hotel in Venice, so yes we value privacy, luxury and service and Wayan, his team and villa pondok surya more then lived up to our needs and hopes of a holiday villa for us! We will no doubt be back, next time though it has to be for longer! You want a slice of real Bali, with a sprinkle of privacy, luxury and service, then this is the villa for you! This place is amazing! The view the pools the staff! You will not find a better villa in ubud I have gone to many. This place is my go to. Definitely coming back here. Recommended it for all. They were super accommodating prepared amazing food and responsive. Wi-Fi was fantastic and that is not possible to find in ubud. I worked entire time zero issue. Wayan property manager is amazing!!
