My sister and I had a great stay here at JK’s place. We fell in love with the whole area. The home felt very safe, private, spacious, and rustic. We spent most of our time at the pool and hot tub (our fave!), watching sunsets, and having a fire in the designated pit. This home is 5-10min from JTNP east entrance, which is perfect for a sunset/rise drive up in the rocks. A couple small things to note; the furnishings are not identical to the pictures. These should be updated as the style of the place is more eclectic than is currently pictured. JK was responsive when I let them know they had a broken sprinkler in the back and a broken can opener. I do think the yard (of lovely desert plants) could use a little pick up. There were dog presents, some garbage bits, stumps, dead agave/cactus which needed pruned. Maybe most people don’t venture past the patio, but I really love plants and was exploring every area of yard! All in all, a fun spot! Cozy, good value, I would recommend!

This was exactly the retreat we needed. The place was (IMO) a typical rustic desert house, which is a cool vibe if you're into it. My husband, dog, and I stayed 4 nights and had a great time hanging out by the pool and exploring the park. We have come to 29 Palms many times and usually stay at a hotel but wanted the flexibility to cook for ourselves and to be able to leave the dog when we went to JT. My only recommendation for those considering this place is that if you are planning to cook, maybe bring the things you really need (for me it was measuring cups, mixing bowl, can opener, and zester/grater). Also, you should check out the PBS episode of Earth Focus about how the recent surge in tourism is impacting this community. Be aware that many of the "chichi" modern rentals may be corporate owned and contributing to the housing crisis.
