Easy to get in touch and great instruction from the housekeeper. House is spacious and clean. Amount of bed and mattress can accommodate up to 17 ppl. Do take note there's quite a bit of ant near the rambutan tree at the right of the house. So do avoid parking below the tree. Water pressure at the bathroom near the kitchen is a bit small. Recommend to use bathroom upstairs. Heard that it will be renovate/upgrade by this year. So have great expectation in the future.
A terrible and disappointed holiday. Me and my family, 20 of us went for our long waited and planned holiday at Batang Kali, but this time was the worst experience with the host and Airbnb… 1st day during checked-in, we being told that “NO WIFI”!!! , and CANNOT use the washing machine!. We chosen this house was based on the basic facilities stated on the website, (Wifi and washing machine are part of the facilities) but end up, TWO were down! As we think these two still bearable, hence we just accepted. So 1st day, everything still ok. The next morning, while we having our breakfast, suddenly lights off and everything became quiet. We checked the DB box, everything seems ok, so confirm, electricity CUT OFF. A short while, even our mobile data also not able to get network connections! We contacted the caretaker and informed her no electricity, she asked us to wait for a while …from 9.30am, we waited until 1.30pm. When everyone started sweating and can’t even get internet connections, we decided to cancel our 2nd night stays in the house. My whole family were so disappointed with the incident and we have to cancel our holiday. The caretaker was called to the house, and we requested for the refund. Over a phone call with the owner, she mentioned she will refund us but might not be full amount due to some admin fee charges by Airbnb. Myself working in this industry for so many years, no electricity is one of the worst experience for the guest and we will always do FULL REFUND, sometimes even compensated more if the guest persistence on their inconvenient and loss/damage. Although we were not really agreed with the owner’s comment but due to very uncomfortable and stuffy in the house (due to hot weather), we were just agreed and left the house at about 2pm. Few days later, we tried to follow up the refund with the owner, best thing happened. The Owner claimed that we shorten our stay last minute, they were not able to rent out the unit and caused them loss in revenue, but out of goodwill, they will refund us 50% of one day rate. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! The owner pushed away her obligation (to provide accommodation with basic facilities, in this case, no electricity) but requested us to fulfil our obligation! This is just like you go buy one thing, the seller give you the item without a part but not allow you to return the goods or ask for refund. After the disappointed conversation with the owner, we decided to approach Airbnb to claim for our refund, then worst thing happened. Airbnb asking for the proof of the electricity outrage!! We replied to Airbnb, the caretaker and the owner are the proof! From 9Jun 22 until today, a long follow up with Airbnb, we can only use 2 words to describe, “Disappointed” and “Frustrated”. As you can see from the message, Airbnb is protecting the host and ignore the consumer’s benefit, pushed away the host obligation. Not sure is because of Airbnb do not want to get into trouble to chase for the refund from the host or they totally ignore the bad experience we been went through. Please put yourself in our shoes, no electricity for about 5 hours, with no information of when the electricity will resume, will you choose to check-out? Is this not the obligation for the host to provide the accommodation with basic facilities? I am here to urge the team from Airbnb to look into this case seriously and give us a good closure.
Nice and comfortable homestay for group gathering, we pretty much enjoy the coziness and the BBQ grill with karaoke system is definitely a thumbs up. Will definitely consider again.
The place is spacious and clean. It is even equipped with a karaoke set and barbeque station. The kitchen is fully equipped with utilities. My friends and I spent a good stay over there, making use of all of the amenities . Not forget to mention, the lady who checked us in is extremely friendly and helpful. If we ever go back to Ulu Yam again, we will definitely go back!
