One of the best experiences of our lives. Ahmad was an amazing, friendly host. The camp itself was at the perfect spot of the desert - right in front of the rock from the Wadi Rum photos. Our tent had a glass wall looking right at it. The bonus is the rock begind the camp where you can easily climb up to have a 360 panoramic view. The sunset was magical from there. I'm usually cold everywhere, so I was afraid of sleeping in the desert, but the blankets were so heavy and warm it was totally fine even in February! There was a fireplace in the main tent where we ate together every day. It was very cozy and the meals were truly delicious - we stayed two nights, so we had a traditional Bedouin meal and a barbecue. The bathroom was nothing like we imagined for a desert camp, it was fully tiled and even had hot water! We booked a full day jeep tour (you truly need it, the desert is huge and it took 7,5 hours to get around the most popular spots) that comes with traditional lunch, tea&coffee.

Un séjour dans le désert qui tient ses promesses et même plus… Vous serez envoûtés par le cadre et l’équipe super accueillante. Déconnexion garantie aux réseaux et reconnexion à la nature ! Une dédicace spéciale à Mokhtar qui m’entendant tousser, m’a préparé une décoction spéciale pour me soulager ! Un amour !

Great camp, Ahmad is a great guy and he makes sure the vibe in the camp is fantastic! We enjoyed touring the desert during the day, and then eating and relaxing in the communal tent in the evening. :)

ATTENTION AU PIEGE!!! Dans son annonce Airbnb Ahmad ne mentionne jamais les frais d'accès au camp, obligatoires, de 80 dinars aller-retour! (plus de 100 euros!) Vous pouvez obtenir ces frais de transfert gratuit, mais pour cela il faut réserver une activité. L'activité la moins chère est de 15 dinars par personne (pour 30min de balade en chameau) donc 60 dinars pour une famille de 4 personnes!! et cela grimpe jusque 70 dinars par personne... Le prix de la nuit sera donc, au final, très différent de celui payé sur Airbnb à la base... De plus, pendant plusieurs semaines je posais des questions à Ahmad qui me répondait très vaguement. Les frais m'ont finalement été annoncés la veille, par whtsapp (en dehors de la plateforme Airbnb)... J'ai donc dû demander l'assistance Airbnb et trouver une solution de remplacement d'urgence. Je ne note donc pas le camp d'Ahmad ou l'expérience proposée, mais les méthodes commerciales plus que douteuses selon moi et qui n'ont rien à faire sur Airbnb.

Loved that Ahmad’s camp only consists of a few tents, the stay felt like having a private area only for us. Me and my friends stayed for two nights - we had bedouin breakfast and dinner provided, which we did enjoy. You can also book desert trips and tours in this camp. Our guide was more quiet, but we really loved Yunis’ company (kid that accompanied us during the trip). Overall we loved this Airbnb, even though the tents aren’t heated.
