"Cascina Gastaldi" is an old renovated countryhouse surrounded by the green hills of Monferrato and by vineyards, where you can forget the hectic everyday life and spend days outdoor in the midst of the scents and colors of the flower garden or the countryside. After sunny days you can cool off in the new pool or read a book under the shade of cherry trees or under the cool porch. The house can accommodate up to a maximum of 8 people and is part of a lovely, tiny hamlet. Entering the property you are in a large garden where a small stone path leads to a shaded porch with comfortable armchairs and a small table. From here you access the house going immediately into the living room equipped with every comfort such as sofas, fireplace, bookshelves and TV. Also on the ground floor is the large kitchen with a long wooden table that can seat up to 10 people and is equipped with many appliances: microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, dishwasher etc. Finally, there is the first of the two bathrooms with toilet, bidet, shower and washing machine. Going up to the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a further bathroom also equipped with toilet, bidet and shower. The largest room has a double bed, two single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables. The smaller one, a double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and, if necessary, a cradle. Outside, in addition to the porch, there is an area with a stonebuilt barbeque, a pizza oven and a long wooden table with two benches placed under a pergola covered by fox grapes where it is possible to have lunch or dinner on beautiful spring and summer days.

This is a fantastic place deep in the Piedmont countryside. It has spectacular views, a wonderful swimming pool, and the hosts, Giorgio and Ornella, couldn't have been kinder or more welcoming. We would give it 6 stars if we could!

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad met ons gezin. Het huisje is een verborgen schat en heeft een prachtig aangelegde tuin en een schitterend uitzicht over de vallei en het dorpje. Onze jongens hebben genoten van het mooie, grote zwembad. Ook het huisje zelf is perfect ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. De bedden zijn comfortabel. Wie weet komen we een keer terug. Dankjewel lieve hosts!!

Wir durften ein paar Tage in den Genuss von Ornella's und Giorgio's schöner Unterkunft und Gastfreundschaft kommen. Für alle die Ruhe suchen vom Alltagsstress, ist es hier genau das richtige. Wunderschöne Unterkunft und Umgebung in mitten der Natur. Es war sehr sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet, garantierte Privatsphäre...... für uns hat wirklich alles gepasst, es waren die perfekten Ferien! Wir möchten uns von herzen bedanken für die wunderschönen Tage, die angenehme und herzliche Atmosphäre und die Hilfsbereitschaft!!! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder einmal!!!

The “Enchanted House” is part of a tiny hamlet derived from an ancient farmhouse (17th century), divided into 3 completely refurbished and independent units.
Located on a hillcrest, our property is immersed in a pristine environment of vineyards and ancient castles, a true paradise for nature lovers. In the gardens and surrounding countryside, bloomings follow one another, from the end of the winter to the heart of a red-painted autumn, flushed with the foilage of forests and vineyards. Winter too is a wonderful season at Cascina Gastaldi! From delicate morning mists to snowy days, walking along country roads or in the woods is an experience that in every season reconciles with our natural rhythm, neglected and often buried in our hectic city life.
The car is necessary and can be parked in our private parking but don't worry, the Enchanted House is strategically located, as it is just a short drive from several hotspots in the region:
Milan (1.5 hrs drive) a world-famous city for shopping, fashion and design, which retains treasures such as the Leonardo Da Vinci’s Cenacle and hosts unparalleled art exhibitions each year;
Langhe and Roero (1.5 hrs drive), recently named a UNESCO heritage, with locations famous all over the world for its excellent wines. One above all: Barolo.
Genoa (40mins) an ancient maritime Republic, a city with a unique architectural structure, with the narrow streets called "carrugi”.
Serravalle Designer Outlet (McArthurGlen, 30mins), a mandatory stop for your shopping.
The charm of the Ligurian coast with destinations such as Camogli, Portofino and the well known “Cinque Terre” is about 2 hours from the house.
Also, in the immediate proximity, there are places that absolutely deserve a tour, such as Gavi, famous worldwide for its DOC wines, where you can also visit the ancient military fortress.
Ovada, with its delightful old town, animated twice a week by a lively street market where you can also find local producers and once a month a very interesting antiques market and plenty of opportunities for good value-for-money purchases for all pockets.
Acqui Terme, an ancient Roman settlement that preserves the ruins of the aqueduct and that is home to a nice spa.
Furthermore, you will find golf courses at Villa Carolina (in Capriata d'Orba) and Colline del Gavi (in Tassarolo).

I arrived at Cascina Gastaldi many years ago, when my colleague and friend, owner of what has now become "The Enchanted House", invited me to spend a weekend here. Immediately I fell in love with this corner of paradise, surrounded by nature, where a “Milanese” like me, with the dream of having a green space for herself, could feel really free to express herself. When, later, I met my husband Giorgio, I was really happy to see that he appreciated this unique place as well, the open spaces on the smooth hills, the changing seasons, always surprising (especially for those who live in a city!) and the unexpected "encounters" with wildlife. Of course we didn’t imagine that one day we would have become owners of a large part of Cascina Gastaldi. At the beginning the old barn, which allowed us to share our joy with our friends and relatives who, after spending a weekend together, always leave us almost envying us for what everyone calls "our little paradise". And then we bought the Enchanted House that will be a great pleasure to share with those who want to be our guests.
