The shared taxi dropped me off at the appointed location; Derky picked me up with his motor scooter and brought me to the accommodation (about 1 km through a coconut palm forest). The small bedroom is equipped with a private shower and toilet. The other rooms are open to the beach and there is plenty of space, tables, seats and a kitchen The house is surrounded by garden and trees and very quiet. In the morning you can watch the sunrise over the sea. Derky cordially received me. He and his family prepared delicious local dishes, especially fresh fish. I had the whole accommodation for myself, but Derky was always accessible and organized a wonderful snorkel trip with the boat of his brother. We went together to the islands Kakara and Pawole with fantastic white sandy beaches and the underwater world is awesome, colorful and speciose. He also gave me many tips for my further journey through northern Molucca. So if you do not want to stay in the unattractive city of Tobelo but prefer a quiet, cozy accommodation, then Derky's beachfront house is a great choice. I hope that I’ll soon be able to spend more time in this place and explore the fantastic area.
