We’d never been to Italy before and when searching for a base to explore from in Tuscany, this ticked all our boxes. Great family vacation was had, memories of a great super break were created. Check in super efficient. We got directions to the local supermarket, stocked up and then arrived. The annex was a gem, shaded in the day, could watch deer from the annex porch as the sun dropped. Pool was clean, and maintained really well. Spent a lot of time in there. We used the kitchen a bit for evening meals and breakfast. Well equipped and dishwasher a nice touch. Beds all comfy and all rooms upstairs had great views. We all slept well. A highlight was when we had a nice al fresco meal cooked up by Donella the housekeeper. Enjoyed the leftovers the next day as well. She has the nicest Fiat 500 - vintage and comes over twice a week to spruce the place up. As an owner of a countryside property myself I know the effort that goes into making such places a brilliant place for guests. The owner has obviously spent a great deal of time and effort thinking about making the place work. The car park lighting, boar proof fence, water pumping system, garden watering system all first class. Inferior fit out balances a rustic farmhouse with life’s mod cons. It was just what I had hoped for. Thank you owner! Location is great. Looks across to Lucignano and an easy drive to supermarkets and bakers etc. we hit a few tourist spots - good location to get onto the fast roads to Sienna Arezzo etc. Lovely place and we very much enjoyed our time staying there as a family. Appealed to all ages, us, teenage kids and our 6 year old. Garden a delight. Nearly didn’t take this place due to an (unwarranted) negative review, but I’m so glad we did.

This home photographs well, but is not in any way a luxury rental. The first issue is that it does not have potable water. I consider this a basic tenant of a habitable space. The second is that all bedrooms are only accessable through the exterior. Third it is not a 'short stroll' to town.... Unless you consider 45 minutes each way short. Fourth it was full of cockroaches, earwigs, spiders and other unidentifiable creatures. Fourth was that the water stopped working... No joke. It was not only not drinkable, but it stopped coming out of the faucet. Fifth was that the host required an undisclosed cash deposit at check-in. Sixth was that it was very difficult to find since the address is not marked at the entrance of the property. I'm sure there were other glaring issues, but needless to say I cannot recommend this property under any circumstances. It is overpriced and not habitable by basic first world standards. We left after two of five nights due to the poor standard of the home. Find one of hundreds of other rentals in the area and don't get fooled by the photos.
