Dopo un inizio incerto, con una stanza senza finestra, é andato tutto per il meglio.. l'appartamento é comodo per il centro città, e comunque tutto molto spazioso visto che mi sono trovato a mia completa disposizione due interi piani, quello in cui dormivo con annessa una bella ampia terrazza sulla strada, e il piano sopra un grande patio con la vista sulla città e sul mare. C'è sempre stata la luce, acqua corrente e calda, tutto molto pulito, e la titolare molto disponibile e gentile. Debbo dire che appena c'é fiducia poi c é una grande disponibilità.

This is a great place to stay if you want somewhere affordable and clean with a hot shower and air-conditioned bedroom in a regular neighborhood with shops nearby. My wife and I stayed in room #2, which is what this review is for, and our daughter stayed in room #1. Both rooms are essentially the same. They're on the second floor, which has a private entrance. Both have private bathrooms. There is a shared common area with a dining room, limited kitchen (just a sink, table, chairs, and a wine decanter and glass set), and a balcony. A third floor has a party area, hammocks, a washing machine, and another balcony. Yoania and Wilfredo are great hosts. They live below, are home most of the time, and are very friendly and helpful. One night after the shops were closed, I asked where I could find bottled water. Yoania called a friend, and Wilfredo took his motorcycle to go buy some for us. He returned and tried to give me the change without even asking to be compensated for his time or gas. They offer Wi-Fi, but you need to go buy a Nauta card to charge the account for a certain amount of time. This signal strength is not so great, but it works well enough in the common area and balcony. This is not a complaint, given the affordability of the place, but if you stay for more than a day or so, be aware that they normally replace towels and clean the room every few days, not daily, and that you may need to go buy replacement toilet paper yourself.

I had a great stay at this place and nothing to complain about. Everything is clean and the kitchen has everything. But be aware this is a shared apartment with a private room. However it's solely used by guests. The location is strategically perfect for everybody that likes to stay outside of the tourists where the normal Cubans live. While it's about 20 minutes to walk to downtown, you are more less in the center of the normal Cuban life. You find everything you need to by close by in a big supermarket or in one of many small shops. Cheap local food is about 8 minutes walk down the road of the house. You find a bar with cheap "Cerveza Dispensada" (6 CUP for 0,3l; 30 CUP for a 1,5l bottle filled) about 8 minutes away on the bigger street/small main street. There you can fill an empty bottle with beer. It's barrel beer without a brand that is delivered to most places in whole Cuba (in the countryside they sell it directly from the tank on cars). Also you have a bus station on the main street about 3 minutes away. For 1 CUP you can take it to downtown if you don't like walking. I did it many times, and I'm totally white, so don't let anyone tell you it's not possible for tourists. The restriction is only for the long distance national bus (excluding(!) transgotia (forgot how to write it) and Camions) and some special areas like the airport. Someone else wrote it's a quiet place, I must totally disagree. As mentioned it's very lively. In the early morning you always hear some sellers walking along the streets and cocks. Later the horses with their carriage and than many people. In the evening many people are sitting on the long stairs close by and you will always hear loud music until very late in the night. I somewhat liked it, however you only have few hours during the night that are really quiet. I liked it the way it was, because I enjoyed the music of the others while lying in a hammock on the rooftop terrace and taking a drink. You have a balcony next to the kitchen with two chairs and a rooftop terrace with two hammocks, a table and chairs (think it were 6 but not sure about that). For everybody that wants to live in the center of the typical Cuban (outside the tourists area), this is the perfect place for it. You shouldn't be to sensitive to noise, but beside this I can totally recommend it.
