Cannot recommend Sam's place highly enough. The Red Barn is exceptional. From the brownies, and lovely breakfasts to the most comfortable bed, amazing shower and best ever leather lounge suite we enjoyed all about this home away from home. It's beautifully equipped with everything you could need to make your stay memorable, board games, colouring in books, movies, books etc. Looking forward to returning one day.

Wow!!! What a special property and we feel so priviledged to have been able to stay two nights here. Sam was the best communicator, contacting us and sending full written directions to find the Red Barn Cottage and moments later re-sent directions because of a road closure. Sam and Jon go the extra mile with their hospitality - homemade goodies and more. Highly recommend this venue! My husband and I have made the decision that when we get tired of city/town living we are booking in for a weekend getaway. Thank you so much Sam and Jon.

If you're visiting Little River, Kaitorete, Wairewa and Akaroa, this is the perfect base – close to everything but back from the road in the middle of rolling farmland. The cottage itself is super comfortable, with outdoor seating, firm beds, quality furnishings, plenty of kitchenware, etc. We hope to return.

Kitchen was well stocked and all necessary utensils and more available and so clean everywhere. Friendly and helpful hosts.
