Area is quiet and nice. Close to the downtown area. House was nice and clean, rooms were comfortable and all had split units which provided a nice cool room while it was hot. Host replies quickly when needed and everything was great.

Host was always available and easy to reach. Will not stay here again. Here are things I wish I knew before we booked: Safety: This home is not inside a gated community and the home does not have a garage or secured parking. It didn’t help that they used an interior hollow door as the front door. It felt like anyone can walk up and kick it down. Most homes in this and most neighborhoods in Ensenada have metal window bars for safety, this home does not. Water: This home has municipal water, meaning it’s salty, we bought 5 gallon water jugs to rinse off after showering. The faucets are rusty and old, and when we opened the faucet the water was brown for a few seconds. There is a very loud water pump and every time you open a faucet, flush a toilet or take a shower the pump goes off, it’s loud and if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night it can be heard throughout the house. Creepy crawlers: Upon entering the home there is a colony of ants, like a lot of ants, my kids did not like that. While resting on the couch a spider was crawling on my arm, not the end of the world but also not cool. Smells: The house was impregnated with a poignant smell of febreeze or fabric softener, the sheets, the curtains, it seemed like someone just sprayed it all over the place. We had to wash the sheets before sleeping in them, by the way, when you use the washer, the water pump is going off the entire time, which by the way is located right next to the fire pit. So you can’t really wash clothes and enjoy the fire pit area which is about as big as a large bathroom. The beds: extremely uncomfortable. The one TV in the house is definitely not a smart TV. We didn’t even bother to call the host and ask how it worked, it seemed complicated and old. The wifi: super slow. Tried to get work done on my laptop but it proved difficult. My family and I stayed here because of all the great reviews, at the end of the day we could not believe how this home was rated so highly. This is not a bad review, it’s more like an accurate review of how our experience was. Here are some cool things about the house. There is a hotdog stand about 1/2 mile away that is amazing. There is a 7/11 literally down the street, maybe 3 minute walk. There is a park nearby, like 1 minute walk. They are pet friendly. There is running hot water. The 3 bedrooms are pretty spacious. They have a washer and dryer. Neighborhood is quiet.
