This old ranch house is almost finished with the renovation making it mostly very clean with a lot of very attractive antique decor in every room. This place is so charming with the best location in Texas, on a horse ranch! We enjoyed talking with the horseshoeing school students, petting the horses in the stables, watching the horse trotting competition, and walking the polo fields. Kim & Nacho are the nicest people. You will have a great time. We certainly did.

Great location, as we were there for a wedding at The Emmerson. Loved seeing the horses and the friendly barn dogs.

Everything was at the ranch was great! The house was clean and welcoming! We will definitely look into staying here again should we find ourselves in Kaufman in the future.

My son’s wedding was at the Emerson. This was a perfect location and Kimberly was a great host!

I had texted and told the owner Nacho many times about things he kept ignoring that either made me uncomfortable or were unsafe like the attic door. I felt I had no choice but to report to air bnb some of these issues. I asked prior to booking if my strict quarantine protocol for my upcoming retreat (& the only reason I needed the booking) was ok on the property. Kimberly also the owner said ok. Still Nacho asked me st least a dozen times to take off my mask- once even saying my “face should not be covered”. as if people needed to see m face over me needing to keep my promise to the center to quarantine as directed. he invaded the 6 feet space rule I asked for prior to booking and many times during when it was unnecessary and often even got so close to touch me. I repeated my boundaries but they were disrespected over and over and he showed me he had very little value in the promise I made to the retreat center and my clearly communicated boundaries. I went to Kimberly with an internet problem- she resolved it immediately. a few days later another problem and I went to Nacho since Kimberly was away and told me to go thru him. I asked if internet was down cause it was not working for me. he text back “I’m using it now.” “Netflix” and then didn’t respond again tho I text him back and obviously did not have net. I had 3 weeks work tondo in 8 days prior to going off grid for 12 days. he was told there was a problem with the attic ceiling door (the attic door/ladder was falling from the makeshift duct tape job) but he ignored me. I sent texts days later after the initial concern showing it had fallen 4 inches more since I last told him about it falling snd he said he get on it later. he didn’t while I was there. the hall where this attic ceiling door ladder is- I had to pass to get to my bedroom and the hall is too narrow to avoid going under the falling duck tape job. I had to cover my head and pray it didn’t hit me. he obviously didn’t care to fix it for my safety or care about promises considering he kept telling me to break mine so why would I believe him about fixing it for other guests? I felt I had to mention this to airbnb as due diligence to keep others safe when he had proven not to care to fix such for my safety after two mentions and 3 days passing. I had already decided to tell air bnb when I found mold in the drawers I was using so I had to wash all my clothes but the washer is also covered in mold (really bad) so my clothes were gross for my entire 2 weeks off grid. everything was washed upon return but it wasn’t ideal to have mold laced clothes and I was reliant on the washer. there is a ton of mouse poop even in the kitchen cabinets. there were massive spider webs everywhere inside too. the house was disorganized and dirty inside drawers, cabinets, closets ect. the fridge was clean and empty but the rest was a mess. 3-5 people working a farm that big and caring for 34 horses is obviously not enough then an air bnb and a house on top of it. just way understaffed and not enough into the upkeep of the property. I gave 8-12 hours to the farm- shoveling shit- adding wood chips to stalls- water for the horses- body work on horses- making temporary signs for their missing name plates- and even spent money on supplies. my time got one texted thank you and no real appreciation. I would have gave more but I had to prep 3 weeks of work that week to go off grid for 2 weeks. it also felt bad to get so little response. I also took out garbage- washed my own bedding - and cleaned up after myself- sweeping dishes ect. I was a good guest for sure but once they heard I said anything to air bnb they didn’t like me. But I had gone to them first with no change and these are safety issues afterall. he drove me once to cvs and I paid him extra. I feel I was fair but I wasn’t treated fair. they would speak on the whole philosophy of “we can make happier horses or better polo players” and they thought the latter was the way. I disagree and don’t exploit animals for entertainment. as a circus performer never work for circuses with animals. the animals are amazing but mostly they spend their time in a stall. They all needed more attention and care. out of the two men who work the barn- the man who speaks a little better english than the other- slid his hand to the top of my butt. he was meant to be 6 feet apart. he definitely never got consent to touch my butt in any area. there were lots of things I didn’t like but the sunsets and the animals were outstanding. I guess since this is only air bnb I should stick to the home stuff- it was subpar at best. I have health and boundary standards that weren’t met. they aren’t being met for the horses either.
