We found the property fairly easy, thanks to Gillians directions. The location was good for a trip into Durham/ Darlington/ Beamish museum. The cottage had everything we needed, and was also lovely and clean. It was great to be able to park my car safe behind electric shutters every night, and I have a large KIA Sportage. On arrival we were greeted by Steve & Gillian, a lovely couple. The only Negative point was the heating system, we were all cold in the cottage. We used all four of the electric heaters to try and keep warm, even though we had the log burner on, at 60 degrees for six hours, the radiators in the property never came on. Other than the heating system fitted to the property, we were happy with everything else in the cottage.

The cottage was excactly as described. Comfortable clean and very intetesting. Plenty transport links buses and trains. We had to change our dates and this handled this with no problems, the little extras left for us were fabulous and even after we broke one of the bowls Gillian was very nice about it (sorry Gillian). Would recommend.

Stayed for three nights between Christmas & New Year with my partner and 13 year old son. Lovely place with full attention to the details. Fascintated my son. The poor weather didn't deter us. We fitted a visit in to the railway museum in the town and a trip to nearby Durham. Can highly recommend the Italian restaurant just down the road (make sure to book). Was lovely on an evening with the coal fire going, whilst enjoying a few of the board games. Gillian is on hand next door if you need anything, we only need to call for some extra wood but she was very chatty and helpful. Can highly recommend a stay here.
