Glad we had a Garmin to find this place but then, we always use a Garmin to put in the co-ordinates. That works perfect for us!!! We had communicated with the owners for a few days and had set up a time to be there for their niece to let us in the locked gate and show the property. The grandfather was there as well and we immediately got on famously. Wonderful guy! The niece spoke English quite well and showed us the apartment and other info we needed. This place is quite nice although, a bit small. For two people, it was nice and "cozy." We didn't cook other than boil water for coffee in a pot. Odd, I thought, they didn't have a kettle but, the pot worked well. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nice.

Hands down the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. The place is gorgeous and the property is breathtaking. The host’s grandfather tends to the gardens on the property throughout the day and he made us several little plates of food and drinks using all fresh ingredients from the garden. The host and her grandfather are some of the nicest people I’ve met in my life. 10/10 - definitely would recommend.

We had the most amazing stay at Manuel and Barbara’s place. The surroundings and peacefulness was great. But what really stood out was Antonio who was looking after the place. He couldn’t have been more hospitable, warmer and kinder person. This was our first trip away with our 6-month old and Antonio really made the trip! Thank you Antonio.

It was absolutely amazing! We agreed that when we were in the military (we’re both retired now and spend most of our time traveling) and working long hours in arduous conditions, that some day we would look back and say it was worth it…well, those days finally arrived as we sat near the beautiful pool and gardens. We were welcomed by Anna Chiara and the infamous Antonio, who made every day very memorable. He could open a restaurant with his gelato, fresh mint tea and bruschetta! We ate at the Ristorante di Mimma (a 5 minute walk) and it was phenomenal, both in value and quality! And finally, the trulli and garden area would be an incredible value at 2-3X the price…but hopefully they won’t increase the price until after we go back! BTW, we have traveled to all 50 United States and almost 100 countries and would rank Manuel and Barbara’s Casa Carruci near the top of places we have visited!!!

A wonderful, sunny week in such a magical place. The trullo has aircon and is simple, small and perfect with views over the valley. It has a gorgeous pool and sitting-out area to enjoy after a day out exploring. The generous owner brought us homemade ice creams and refreshing drinks and also encouraged us to pick figs, plums, lettuce and tomatoes from his garden near the pool. The area is best explored with a car, and we enjoyed wandering around the nearby trullo towns like Cisternino, Monopoli and Ostuni, and Castellana caves and Matera were well worth visiting too. There are several pizzerias within walking distance, a huge selection of restaurants in Ceglie Messapica just down the road, and gelaterias in every town.
