The place is quite dark since the host does not want the hallway lights to be on, expect for a pathway indicator kind of serial set. The place is quite cluttered with most of the shared places, dining room, living room full with lots of items. Kitchen is quite cluttered with very less shelve space available if you are staying for long. Dryer failed and the host could not fix it for weeks, sinks drain slow and things like this. There was water leak and a part of the roof came down and the host was not willing to compensate and provide another place. I guess things can happen in a old house. All in all a great location, but challenges with a old and bit dark place.

As a solo traveler who was planning on moving in on a work assignment for 4 months, I had medium-low expectations for a nice place close to the metro lines and near Adam's Morgan. These expectations were barely met. CONS: The place was small, dilapidated, and dimly lit. BE AWARE of the house rules as listed and take them literally (i.e. very limited kitchen hours, no windows open, lights off, two cats, costly laundry, only one or two shelves for food in the kitchen, zero freezer space). PROS: Great location to the metro(15min walk), bars(10min walk), proximity to downtown(30min walk) & coffee shops(10min walk). Nicely renovated bathroom on the middle floor. This would be a decent weekend spot if you're in town and just need a bed. I'm recommending that young professional travelers here for work, look to sublet a furnished studio for the same price where you get privacy and your own rules to live by. I give it a 2/5.

Absolutely loved staying at Jousett’s! She was so kind to let me stay the whole year (my international contract kept getting delayed because of the pandemic), very grateful to be able to stay in such a beautiful neighborhood in DC and enjoy everything the city has to offer. Very clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy walking & biking distance to everything, great location.
