I strongly recommend Casa de Horta for the people who want to feel free and disconected. When I stayed at Casa de Horta (Cato) I knew what to expect. If you are the mind of person who puts price on the room, then you have no reason to come. Regarding Cato, there are many things to improve, such as: from the bathroom was coming a bad smell and also it wasnt too clean, you don t have AC(however, the weather is perfect being right next to the ocean), the wi fi signal was bad. However, Cato was a place where I felt extraordinary. I was welcomed very very well and the lady from Brasil is an extraordinary human being, but also the people from sourdings are great. The place has a special vibe and Bordeira beach is by far the beach that you wish for - private with incredibile views, very well kept and perfect for surfing enthusiats like me. The crown jewel of the area - restaurant Sitio de Forno - Magnificent. I will definitely come back one day! 🤗🤗
La struttura lascia molto a desiderare. Non c’è cura. Difficile da trovare seguendo le indicazioni fornite (posizione gps errata). La porta del bagno a soffietto è rumorosissima e sveglia chi sta dormendo a 50 cm di distanza dal bagno. Nella descrizione la colazione avrebbe dovuto essere fino alle 11 mentre ci hanno comunicato al nostro arrivo che terminava alle 9.30. Dalla descrizione abbiamo avuto la sensazione che avremmo trovato un posto essenziale ma curato e amichevole (si parla addirittura di feste serali). In realtà si tratta di un posto trasandato che non mostra nessuna particolare attenzione per gli ospiti. La posizione è però meravigliosa in quanto si trova all’interno dell’area di parco protetto ed è vicinissimo a spiagge selvagge e meravigliose dove l’oceano si manifesta in tutta la sua potenza e bellezza.
L'endroit était parfait. Le logement super bien placé, en pleine nature et loin des touristes. Beaucoup de belles choses à voir au alentour, nous avons été conquis ! Inge est quelqu'un de très accueillante, serviable, attentionnée, toujours souriante et à l' écoute ! Le petit déjeuner est parfait et varié, nous nous sommes régalés. Tout était la pour rendre notre séjour parfait. Je recommande cet endroit les yeux fermés ! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Despite a bit of a kerfuffle with our booking, Diego was very responsive to clarify the situation. Julia met us and provided a wonderful introduction to the hostel and the area. We had a private room with an attached bathroom/shower, balcony, super comfy bed and heater. The room was clean and spacious. The inclusive breakfast of fresh orange juice, coffee, toasted bread, cheese and ham was perfect. We were offered a goose egg too! Casa Da Horto is a short walk to the lagoon, dunes and beach. Although full of surfers, beachcombers and hikers (on the Fisherman's Trail) it is expansive and breathtaking. Town is about a 10 minute walk or so where there are restaurants and cafes. What really stood out was the amiability and warmth from Diego and his friends. We would return to Casa Da Horto readily and highly recommend it for a memorable stay.
Lovely place! The stay was a unique experience from A to Z. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was pretty and very clean and the breakfast was fantastic. In addition, the surroundings/location is a dream. We can only recommend this accommodation! :)

Casa da Horta is a guesthouse, restaurant and small organic garden, where we strive to provide the best quality experience for all that arrive here in beautiful Carrapateira. We have a number of different rooms to suit your needs, with a delicious breakfast included, our restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, serving fresh local sourced food and drinks to meet the needs of all tastes. Casa da Horta is the perfect destination for you to rest in comfort and your starting point to explore the surrounding area and beyond! Casa da Horta offers a variety of additional facilities available to all guests! These include a large roof terrace, a river side yoga platform, access to the river and boats that leads to beautiful Bordeira beach. Furthermore we have a clay roundhouse that offers a shady retreat nestled within our organic garden. This area is a hub of outdoor activities within the region, we can help you organise your adventure! Horse and bike riding with Carrapateira Extreme, Amado surf camp, Carrapateira Adventures offering SUP tours. Moreover massage and yoga sessions can be organised. There is plenty more to be enjoyed; our staff are here to help you make the most of this magnificent area! Our food is based around using local and sustainable ingredients, keeping food waste to a minimum and delivering on taste. Our dishes include strong vegetarian options but incorporate meat, fish, and seafood where we can be comfortable in the origin of the produce: working with local fishermen, farmers and growers. For lunch,we offer open toasts with varied ingredients from vegan to meat served on artisanal bread. Soups, salads, and homemade cakes are also on offer, alongside a variety of sides to add to your choices.
