Loved the location, easy to find, the road is quiet. Loved listening to the trains and owls at night. This is my second stay looking forward to coming back soon.
This Airb&b is a basic cottage, but a beautifully designed one. The awesome uptairs loft/bedroom with its view, is what really makes it.
Georgia and Doreen's place is exactly as its described on their advertisements. We felt at home at their cottage. Unfortunately, we could not meet Georgia and Jack, but the communication was great through Doreen. The home had everything that we need and the nature in the surrounding was awesome, we saw wild Turkey's and Rabbits almost every day of our week long stay. We are hoping to come again some day for sure.
This Airbnb made for a perfect getaway from the city. The scenery is so breathtaking, it makes waking up a thrill - which says a lot, because I am NOT a morning person lol. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming; we felt right at home immediiately. Plus, having a fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms was unbelievably convenient. The only "con" may be that our cat possibly loved it more than we did, and is still sulking about having to leave 😆

We are in an exciting and vibrant overlap of regions in a gorgeous and still relatively undiscovered part of Ontario, Canada along the great lakes. We're at the intersection of Northumberland County, Prince Edward County, Cramahe Township, The Apple Route, Villages of Brighton and Colborne, and the Bay of Quinte. That's a lot!
The region is known for apples, art, festivals and bird watching. The views of Lake Ontario are unmatched anywhere. We're on a hill so you can see for miles. The curvature of the Earth is visible over the lake.
Sky watching is spectacular as well. Milky Way, planets and our Moon are very cool to watch.
For winter time, cross-country skiing and hiking is not too far. Search the web for scenic trails in Northumberland, Quinte and PrinceEdward Island regions, or go to Presquile Park and ski on the beach!
The village of Brighton with nice grocery stores and shops is 5 miles to the east on Highway 2. The village of Colborne with its many festivals and small shops is 4 miles to our west on Highway 2.
Presquile Provincial Park is known worldwide for its migratory birds and fishing. It is located near Brighton. Top flight golfing is abundant in the region.
Fresh water swimming in Little Lake. There is a quaint public beach and boat launch. The lake is famous for its white clay that you can discover and rub on your face and body.
The Trent-Severn waterway with its canals and historic locks in nearby to our east.
Trenton Air Force Base is about 15 miles to the east off Highway 2.
We are 88 miles from Toronto. You can drive or hop Via Rail from Cobourg, ON, a 20 minutes drive from us.
We are part of the Apple Route known for its views of Lake Ontario, biking and villages. The Big Apple pie store has the world largest wood apple visible from Highway 401, a cafe, mini golf, a petting zoo and a dog run. And great apple pies!
It is 1 1/4 mile walk to a secluded part of Lake Ontario straight down the hill on Ventress Road. Keep going onto Bellamy Rd, across the two railroad tracks to a grass easement trail to the lake shore.
It is also 1 1/4 mile walk to swimming at fresh water Little Lake. Up the hill on Ventress Rd, left Trent Valley Rd and follow it to Little Lake beach. You can of course drive or bike as well.

A multimedia fine artist and philosopher. I am a creative in my fine art, conversations and problem solving. I also like to build and grow, both people and properties. I built an A-Frame cabin out of the trees on my Ontario, Canada property when I was 23 years old and I continued developing the land to include my residence house, the guest cottage and a gazebo, and decks, lots of decks! I renovated an 1883 building in Denver, Colorado and helped grow a nationally known art district there along with my husband Jack. One of my greatest pleasures is to share my creations with my guests, be it a campfire under the stars in Ontario or strolling the art galleries in our creative district in Denver.
