鹰河 (Eagle River) · 客用套房里的独立房间 · 1室2床1.5卫 · 可住3人 · Private lakeview guest quarters in historic home
This charming and historical stay is set in the picturesque lakeside town of Eagle River. Just out your door is Lake Superior, a beach, river gorge, waterfall, sunsets & stargazing. This is a lovely, spacious, and private 2-story guest quarter with private entrance. 1st Floor: parlor (living room); guest fridge; half bath; and a screened-in front porch with a lake view. 2nd Floor: a spacious guest room (with windows for a lakeview and lake breeze); full bath. No added cleaning fee. This spacious and pleasant space will sleep 1-3 people. It consists of the front 2-story half of an historic 1860's home. For a period of time, the home was a boarding house, "Grandview." The upstairs guest room has three large windows that face the lake, with enjoyable lake breezes during the summer months. A private full bath is across the hall, just off the bedroom. The bedroom is set up with both a queen and single bed (to sleep up to three, or for extra sleeping space for restless sleepers.) In addition, there is a half-bath on the first floor for your exclusive use. The downstairs parlor (living room) is for your private use as well. Our access would only be if you chose the optional continental breakfast. (Which would then be set up for you in the parlor at your requested time.) We are confident that our guests will find this a comfortable and enjoyable place to call their temporary home. A variety of recreational activities are available for all ages and skill levels. Explore the history of the area, or experience biking on beginner to world-class mountain bike trails. Hike, kayak, stroll the beaches, agate/rock pick, or simply relax in the natural beauty of the area. We are an easy drive to the dock for the "Isle Royale Queen" in Copper Harbor, which transports visitors to and from the Isle Royale National Park. Winter provides abundant snow for downhill and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. We are ideally located just 16 miles from Mt. Bohemia, 20 from Copper Harbor, and are 30 miles north of Mt. Ripley/Michigan Tech. You will find "Grandview" a welcoming place to return to after a day of adventuring or an hour or so of relaxing on the beach.
We enjoyed the space. The bedroom was amply sized, comfortable, and attractive. Lovely although simple breakfast.
Kathy was an amazing host. She offered us breakfast each morning. She also helped me jump start my car. My daughter and I were very comfortable in the space. We are planning to come back next year.
My partner and I had a fantastic weekend stay at this charming and historic property in the picturesque town of Eagle River. The location is unbeatable, right by Lake Superior with easy access to the beach, river gorge, and stunning waterfall. The sunsets and stargazing made for a magical experience, and Kathy the homeowner and host is warm and welcoming. The two-story guest quarters are spacious and private, providing a lovely retreat. The first floor features a cozy parlor where we enjoyed morning coffee while enjoying the warm fireplace. The second floor offers a spacious guest room with large windows that bring in the warm sunlight and a private full bath right across the hall. Kathy's hospitality was wonderful and we cannot wait to return.
Eagle River is a small lakeside town. Sitting on the porch, or taking a short walk to the beach with your morning coffee is a beautiful start to the day. Eagles can oftentimes be seen scouting for their next meal near the mouth of the river.
The town has three bridges, the historic Pratt Pony Bridge, over 100 years old, is just out your front door, and provides a spectacular view up the river gorge and down to the mouth at Lake Superior. The Eagle River Falls is just a very short walk up the street, across from the Township Hall (which houses the Eagle River Museum on the 2nd Floor.)
Lake Superior is magnificent, and forever changing--offering up everything from soft and serene sunsets, to wildly crashing waves. There is more than enough to see and do here in Keweenaw County to pack an itinerary full of adventure and sight-seeing. But, if you'd prefer, you can just kick back, relax...and simply enjoy being here.
There is no public transportation. Parking is available without charge. The nearest airport is the Houghton County Airport (CMX), located between Hancock and Calumet. Eagle River is located in the heart of Keweenaw County, approximately 30 miles north of Houghton (Michigan Tech and Mt. Ripley), 16 from Mt. Bohemia, and 20 miles south of Copper Harbor (the northernmost end of US 41.)
自我介绍
My husband and I have lived in our 1860's home for over 20 years. We had considered operating a guest house for years, but thought that we would wait until we were: retired, petless, emptynesters, and had completed the restoration of our 1860's home. But then one winter we hosted a couple of mushers for a local sled dog race, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Shortly afterward, we made several modifications to "Grandview" to provide more privacy for our guests. And in the summer of 2015, we began hosting...pets and all. The philosophy of Airbnb appeals to us, and we enjoy sharing our home with guests of varied ages and backgrounds. We participate with Airbnb--as both hosts, and guests. We look forward to sharing our knowledge and love of the area, and welcome any questions you may have. Kathy & Mark
