This beautiful home was built in 1923. It once served as the carriage house and living quarters for the nearby Custer house, but now its a stand-alone property. It is centrally located just three blocks from the downtown square and within walking distance of many restaurants and Knox College.
This is a small space, 1100 square feet. downstairs is the newly remodeled kitchen, and living area with a large smart TV (no cable) and comfortable leather couch along with other seating.
Upstairs there are two small bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, a small newly remodeled bathroom, and an office space.
it's in a charming and quiet old neighborhood, with large trees, and many Victorian homes.
The stairs are steep, and the space is not suitable for small children, or people who have trouble with stairs.

This place is a gem. Tasteful and well-appointed, it is a wonderful spot from which to experience the Galesburg area. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
This place is charming and comfortable. Check-in was super easy and the neighborhood is quiet. We loved the little backyard as well. Be aware that the stairs are steep and narrow-not a problem for us but maybe not ideal for people w mobility issues. But we loved this place! Definitely hope we’ll be back when we visit the Burg again!
A clean and welcoming former carriage house served us well for our stay in Galesburg. Directions were thorough and accurate, kitchen was well organized, beds were comfortable, and host was kind. We would love to have stayed longer!
Uniquely decorated, fully stocked with everything one might need. Amy is very capable and willing to help with any concern.
This cozy home is located in the center of Galesburg, two blocks North of Galesburg's square, where the statue of Carl Sandburg and his goat is erected. it's on the route of one of Galesburg's 8 Historic Walking Tours You’ll love the quiet neighborhood and beautiful architecture.
I bought this place because of its proximity to downtown, and I personally walk or ride my bike as much as possible. there is a grocery store downtown, and several restaurants. I am also within walking distance of the Amtrak station. Knox College is also very close.
Most people drive, and parking is abundant.
I know we have buses and taxis, but I can't speak for them as I have not used them.
I am a from the Galesburg community, and I graduated from Knox College. when I returned to Galesburg, there was no place near downtown to stay. As a frequent traveler, who enjoys the experience of an Airbnb, I knew my small place would be a welcome retreat for people visiting family, or attending events in the area. I host two Airbnb's, the "Custer Carriage House Downtown Galesburg" an entire home, and the "En Suite in Historic Home in Galesburg" which is a private space. I love to promote Galesburg history, and I am currently a board member of the Galesburg Civic Art Center.
