Hi, I'm your host, Erik MacPeek. I am a creative professional with 30 years of experience as a graphic designer, photographer, illustrator and finish carpenter with a flair for interior design. I frequently put these skills good use maintaining the rental listings here on AirBnB. Since we began listing our properties on the site, we have met all kinds of great people along the way! We even use Airbnb when traveling and just love it. Originally from southeastern Connecticut, I now live full-time in Tampa, Florida. In the summer, we migrate up to New England to spend time with family, friends and enjoy the New England coastline and great seafood! There in Stonington – on the southeastern Connecticut coastline – we congregate each Summer and Fall on my family's 100 year-old summer retreat called Sea Acres. It consists of three cottages on four acres, looking out over a salt-marsh cove and across Fisher's Island and Long Island Sounds. The property is bordered by a nature conservancy land trust, and there is always some wildlife to be seen every day (rabbits, chipmunks, mink, dozens of bird species, woodchucks, skunk, fox, deer). As a creative person, I make sure my rentals are unique and stylish, we love to make sure they are comfortable and well stocked with nice linens, fluffy towels and Reidel wine glasses! These cottages were not furnished or decorated for the rental market, but as our second homes, and they have unique touches throughout, such as my great grandmother's sea chest from Ireland, grandpa's ship's wheel and my grandmother's walnut table. We love our green space and over the years have planted more than 1,000 daffodil bulbs at the Stonington, CT property, a real sight to see in early spring and we encourage folks to cut them and make bouquets while they visit. There are also wild blackberries and various fruit trees blossoming including peach, pear, apple and cherry. We have very much enjoyed working with Airbnb, and use them ourselves when we travel and have met many wonderful hosts and guests along the way. Enjoy your stay and please sign the guest book!
