Eric is a congenial host. The location proved excellent for our time in Acadia and was extremly quiet and private. His cabin is self described as rustic and you should believe it. The heat is provided by a wood burning stove that created a nice ambiance. We purchase dry wood locally and got by ok. The kitchen appliance were clean and functioned well. Ditto on the bathroom. The shower was rustic and the water was nice and hot! The one aspect we were disappointed in was with the soft furnishings namely the futon mattress that lays on the loft floor that is the only bed and the old (beyond rustic) couch. Eric is justly proud of the wonderful handmilled beams used in construction of the house. We were a little concerned that the only locks on the doors were simple slide latches, leaving us feeling a little less than a secure in the Maine woods. This is a wonderful prime location and building that only needs a few small repairs and updates to be ready for prime time.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Lamoine. The cabin was comfortable and clean. We had perfect nice days and cool evenings. Eric kept us loaded with firewood for the wood stove. We stayed cozy warm. The loft was up a ladder, but it was sturdy and wide. If you are unstable or weak in any way, this may not be the best sleeping place for you. We really enjoyed discovering special touches throughout the week. The bathroom door has a fun little cut out, but rest assured it was still private.

We had a wonderful experience at the cabin! Eric was extremely accommodating with our check in and the impending hurricane. Luckily there was no damage and the power was on when we arrived. We were about 30 minutes from Acadia/Bar Harbor. It was great coming home to a private cabin after after being around large groups of people. Highly recommend staying there!

Really special property. Better than the pictures. This area is remote, so our Sheltie enjoyed run of the property with no concerns. The state park is directly across the street, and we had that all to ourselves as well. The cabin is rustic and beautiful, also very easy to move right in and function. Great pad for hiking in Acadia with dinners in Bar Harbor! Thank you!

We had such a lovely time at this cabin! It was a great home base for exploring the area - about 30-45min drive from Acadia hikes/biking and other cute small towns. Lamoine beach was right down the road, making it an awesome spot to watch the sunsets and take in Maine's beauty. The cabin itself was super private, peaceful, and exactly as described. I would highly recommend if you're wanting to unplug and looking for a place close to Acadia, but not wanting to get into the thick of the tourist swarm.
