We enjoyed the beautiful view at the house and the place had a lot of character. Unfortunately the house had a bee infestation during our stay which caused us not to be able to use most of the outside space. We understood from the owner that they were removed after our stay but we would have liked the host to be more responsive about this issue during our stay.

Das Haus von Jerry liegt wunderbar am Fluss Armancon. Es ist alt und sehr gemütlich. Die Küche grosszügig und gut eingerichtet, jedes Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein eigenes kleines Bad. Einziger Nachteil, es eignet sich nicht so sehr für die heisse Jahreszeit.Das eine Schlafzimmer unter dem Dach ist nicht kühl zu halten. Und der hübsche Aussenbereich mit drei Sitzplätzen verfügt über keine Schattenplätzchen. Das Städtchen Semur- en-Auxois ist wirklich bezaubernd, und wir haben schöne Velotouren in der nahen und weiteren Umgebung gemacht.
This was a fantastic find and perfect for two couples. It is even better than the pictures. Really beautiful setting in perfect location on the river. It was completely private and the outdoor patio by the river perfect for outdoor meals which we did a lot. The kitchen is functional and well stocked. There was a very nice and generous welcome basket of food and wine. The salon was amazing and such a surprisingly large and comfortable space with many open windows allowing breezes, peek a boo views of the river , trees and town, birds singing, comfy furniture and a few games and books. The instructions beforehand and in a binder on site were thorough and very helpful. The upstairs bedroom was very nicely appointed with a queen bed. The downstairs bedroom has a king bed and is separate with it’s own entrance but very close up stairs to the main entrance. It is dark,cool, only 1 small window. A low key retreat in the most beautiful town we visited in Burgundy. We felt at home.

Our family has owned the house since 2001 and regularly try to get over from the States (San Diego) to enjoy the village & region. We never tire of being there and try to stay as long as practicable each year. We consider each of you as guests in our home, welcome you with that perspective, and encourage you to once there settle in however best makes yourselves, family or group at home too. The house is a close walk into the centre ville through cobblestone streets and pathways winding through the rampart walls & turrets. Once you have made full booking payment we will email you detailed information on how to get to and into the house (without having to meet someone) along with information on the village of Semur and the Burgundy region in general including restaurant, wineries, historical & recreational sites & facilities so you will arrive with as complete a picture of features of the house & surrounding area.
