Alex was a super friendly and responsive host. Excellent instructions were given and Alex was really kind and flexible when we had a specific request. Culls Barn is a cosy, homey place with plenty of beds. The kitchen is sadly very small for the max number of guests (hardly any work surfaces, only two plug sockets so you have to swap microwave/toaster/kettle/mixer etc in and out) which makes preparing meals for 10 people a real challenge. The garden and pool area are beautiful and probably really great in summer (we were there in mid-winter so our use was minimal). The area is pretty but the roads around there are very narrow with no pavements. Not suitable for walking with small children and/or a buggy.

Absolutely fabulous!! What a perfect place! The location is superb, just enough out of the way to be quiet and see all the stars, yet close enough to the cities and transportation to get anywhere you need without a fuss. Plus the pool and the gardens!! What a fantastic treat! Alex was so wonderfully accommodating and helpful! She had all the little niceties, especially for a family, that made our stay just a little bit easier. Super clean and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better host or accommodations!

My party had a lovely stay at the house. The swimming pool is lovely and warm, and the garden is beautiful. The house is well equipped, with everything you could need. You are situated in a peaceful location but in easy reach of the town centre, and lots of other local attractions.

Alex was a great host, very friendly while we were there, and great at replying to messages before we arrived. The house is accurately represented in the photos and description, but feels a little tired, as it is an old barn with a lot of old and mismatching furniture. It might be useful to know that the bedrooms are split over 3 floors (a single bed off the kitchen on the ground floor, a single, a double, and a triple on the first floor, and a double on the top floor) but only one double and the triple have ensuites. In fact whoever uses the double on the 2nd floor will have to come down a level to use a toilet. The pool was fabulous, very warm (consistent 29 degrees during our week) and lots of space. Alex was happy for us to bring toys and floats to use in there for the kids (and adults!) and the area did feel very private. A Tesco and a Lidl are both a few minutes drive away, and there are a few nice pubs very close by - be sure to ask Alex for good walking routes via paths rather than walking with traffic. We had a grocery delivery on day 1 (Adsa, but I'm sure others deliver there!) and that was super helpful to get us started, but don't go too mad as the fridge isn't huge.
