Conveniently located near Ventry for our whale and bird watching tour. Great views. Bring a couple euro coins for heating and electricity.

Great Rental- be advised you have to pay for extra electric and heat with Euros. She gives you a certain amount and then the rest is on you. We could not figure out heat, we think we ran out and so we just bundled up. We were there in fall so it was cooler. We had to compost food as well- it was fine but be aware- the extra utilities above what she a-lots is operated by coin service.

Beautiful farmhouse stay near Dingle. Ailene met us and showed us around the house. Very comfy! The Dingle peninsula is breathtaking and we took a hike to the beach from the house as suggested by Ailene. Two things to know: The farmhouse is a duplex, so you’ll have neighbors. But be assured, there was no problem with noise or privacy. Also, the heat and electricity are metered. When we arrived, there was already time on both the heat and electricity meters, but you should have some 2euro coins with you to use as needed. We didn’t use the heat and used the electricity sparingly. This meant we didn’t feel comfortable using the washer, dryer, or dishwasher—-not knowing how much energy the appliances would use.

Ailene is a friendly and gracious host with lots of helpful information. The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable. We loved walking up to the castle (which is on the hosts' sheepfarm) and watching the farmer herd sheep with a sheep dog, walking the quiet roads down to the village and along the shoreline. The location is just off the Slea Head Drive near beehive huts and famine houses, and the Gallarus Oratory which is fascinating. It was an easy 10 minute drive into Dingle with huge selection of pubs, some with trad music, and good food. The views from the cottage apartment are stunning in every weather. A lovely quiet country location.
