Kara's house is a lovely and well maintained historic home with charming period decor and comfortable beds. There are comfortable sitting areas and the kitchen and bathroom are nice too. I liked that Kara set up a birding nook with bird guides and binoculars by the window that looks out on the bird feeder. As a a host, Kara was incredibly kind and went out of her way to welcome me. This destination is a best fit for guests who are looking to spend time getting to know their hosts and sitting down together to enjoy a long conversation. Guests who are seeking privacy or a self check-in should know that they will meet the host and have an extensive tour regardless of what time they arrive. I let Kara know before booking that I would be arriving very late at night, too late for an in-person tour or a phone call. When we communicated by phone I shared my ETA which was between midnight and 1 AM. I was dead tired and very ready to check myself in and go straight to bed, but unexpectedly, Kara still showed up at midnight when I arrived to give me an extensive tour. I had to leave early in the morning so I didn't get to spend much time exploring this place, but I can vouch that Kara puts a lot of care into the house and is a very present host.
