Tomaz's place was amazing. The nice bungalow is part of a guesthouse with all the services and amenities you will need. The lake setting is stunning and the transfer from the village to the the guesthouse went smoothly with the boat booked by the hotel. However, we were disappointed by the 25 cedis additional fees to access internet and the price of the food which was pretty high. To be recommended anyhow.

I paid for this place in advance through AIRBNB which included breakfast and they insisted that my bill was not paid and that I had to pay for the room and my breakfast. I had to call airbnb and they took care of it, but I felt like they should have called. The food was high and not that good, asked for a condiment and I was told it did not come with the meal, I cannot remember what it was, but it was something like butter, I insisted on paying extra, but they would not give it to me. When I booked this place they offered boat rides and bicycling and it was not available. I was advised that the equipment had been broken for a while. I told them that that was false advertising, it has since been taken down. The roads were a nightmare! Unpaved very rocky terrain and if it is raining like it was when we went and dark you really need a 4X4 and please I would recommend not going, very dangerous! The bottom of my rental car received damage from hitting the bottom against hard stone. The lake was beautiful, the room not bad, but for me not worth the drive. They did apologize to me, but I left 2 days early because of the way I was treated and without receiving a refund. So I ended up paying for 2 nigts at Hotel in Kumasi.

This place is more like a hotel rather than a typical Airbnb location. It is very far from any means of civilization, the only way of getting there is by a dirt, hilly rocky, windy, narrow, dark road filled with holes and bumps so if you don't have a 4X4 do not take a chance. The first thing you noticed once you arrive is a sign stating that you are not allowed to bring any type of food or beverages inside the place therefore giving you the only option of must purchasing whatever is available in their very expensive, pricey and not so fair menu, furthermore they "do not accept credit cards because of poor internet connections " but at the same time they also charge 5 dollars PER DAY for WiFi service. Go imagine that! The nearest ATM machine is about 40 miles away. The room had all kind of insects and lizards crawling from everywhere, the bed was filled with insect larva despite of their mosquito net. The place is isolated and quiet for those who are looking to get away from civilization. The lake itself doesn't look healthy at all and actually their beach is very rocky too. They do not have a separate smokers area in the dining room and even their management team without any consideration for the nonsmokers chain smoke quite frequently.

If you really want to find an escape, this is the place. Right on the edge of the lake in the middle of this huge cratered-mountain is the perfect getaway. The views are amazing. I suggest waking up early to watch the sun come up as the local fisherman cast their nets. They have a restaurant with a great cook. The staff is professional, friendly & helpful. If you truly want a secluded place in the heart of Ghana I suggest you stay at CoCoa Village!
