This was our second time at Gus's cottage. He is a great host. We had a great time at Gus's cottage. I would definitely recommend his place.

The location is the perfect get-away from the stress of everyday life! The cottage is tucked away in the woods and the river view is stunning. The cottage is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The deck is very nicely done and has multiple cooking options. We also enjoyed the firepit for a cozy gathering in the evening. Gus is a very attentive and super friendly host. The only reason we did not give 5 stars is because the walls of the rooms do not reach all the way to the ceiling so that if one party wants to go to bed early and the other is still up and chit chatting, one can hear it in all the bedrooms. The same is true for snoring sounds. But this would not keep us from returning to this amazing place.

Whitepine Cottage and its York River setting are marvellous. Gus is very welcoming and helpful, and everything about the cottage is well equipped: excellent kitchen, books, games and enough canoes and kayaks for all 5 of us. Blissfully tranquil with plenty of water activity on your doorstep, heaven.

The cottage and surrounding was idyllic. It is even more beautiful than the pictures. It was completely secluded/private and beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a better off grid experience. Will re-visit definitely. Gus was a fantastic host and thought of all the small details. Thank you so much!
