We had a lovely week at this gorgeous cottage. The views were spectacular and was a great base for us exploring that part of the NC500. With2 dogs there was plenty of space and the boot/utility room great for cleaning up and drying the dogs when back from a swim or long walk. Would definitely highly recommend staying here, and communicating with Diana was quick and easy. Will return next year !

Hey, we had a very nice time here with two families (7 people) from Germany. Diana and her family are super nice and very communicative hosts, who gave us a very warm welcome, are very responsive to questions and take great care. The house is very lovingly furnished and has a cosy atmosphere. And the kitchen is very well equipped. Despite the street in front of the house, it is quiet. It was nice to use the bench directly at the lake to drink a coffee or wine and enjoy the view of the mountains on the other side of the lake. We didn't use the delivery services offered by a butcher and a fishmonger in Achintraid, we went to the Spar in Lochcarron. It's only about 20 minutes away by car. You can also cycle there, but you have to climb a few metres on the way there and back. It took us about 55 minutes each way. It is nice that you can go on smaller hiking tours directly from the house - there is an excellent, very varied hiking trail to the next bay. You can also walk to Lochcarron - here the way markings leave room for interpretation but with a good offline navigation and waterproof shoes, you can also walk in these mountains ;-) Going swimming was an almost daily but also cold fun for our teenagers - they loved that they could swim in the loch right from the house. Some days, however, it was warm enough to lie on a wider beach about 15 minutes' walk away and swim or snorkel on the rocks. We have enjoyed our stay here very much and hope that the loch will continue to be spared from further industrial development. Thanks again to Diana and her family for letting us use their home.

Lovely house in a beautiful, relaxing location overlooking the loch. Very well equipped, comfortable “home from home”. It is spacious yet still cosy. The hosts are quick to respond and very keen to help with any questions. We had a great stay.
