Absolutely wonderful picturesque stay at Swallow Barn. Caroline was a perfect host. We stayed for a wedding in Durham which was only a short distance away, my only regret is not being able to spend more time at the barn! Will definitely return to explore more.

Caroline was the perfect host, always on hand before and during our stay to answer any questions. Her handover at the start ensured we didn’t need anything though. A most wonderful cake and tea tray greeted us. The barn is so cosy and comfortable, spacious, and has everything you need - including basic kitchen stores like teabags, and toiletries in the bathrooms. A wonderful stay, we will be back!

We just had the loveliest weekend at Caroline's cottage and I have to share about it. Right when we got there, we found fresh eggs and a homemade cake waiting for us. It was such a nice touch and made us feel really welcome. The cottage was just perfect. It was clean, cosy, and felt like a home away from home. Caroline was super flexible with our check-in time too, which was a big help. Caroline was great. She was always quick to respond whenever we had a question. Plus, she gave us some tips on where to go for walks in the area, which was really helpful. All in all, it was a wonderful stay. Caroline's cottage is a great place to relax and feel at ease. We're so glad we went and would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks, Caroline, for a great weekend. Can't wait to be back!

We stayed as a family of 4 over Christmas and Caroline had put up a Christmas tree and there were home made mince pies and prosecco on the table when we arrived which was so lovely. The place is bigger than it looks on the photos and the views even better than they look on the pics too! We've got two small kids with low stamina for walking(!!), but this place was perfect as you only have to open the front door and walk a few metres to feel like you're fully in the countryside :-) The decor is slightly dated and the bathrooms a little 'sterile', but to be fair it is an air bnb rather than a family home and it's immaculately clean with plenty of hot water etc and exactly how it looks on the pics. We loved being on the farm and getting to see the cows and even had breakfast with the free range eggs. We could happily have stayed longer. It was beautiful even in the pouring rain so I'd love to see it in snow or summer sun. Loved it! x

Travelled with family for the weekend. The place was super cosy and clean and had everything we needed. Caroline was a excellent host, responded immediately when we needed her, but left us to it for the rest of our stay (with a welcomed friendly hello and a wave when we passed each other). We’d definitely recommend to others. Our children were made to feel welcome, with lots of toys and games. They especially loved the cows, chickens and friendly cat on the farm and watching the tractor pass by. Thanks for making the dogs feel welcome too. All in all, a fab stay. Thanks so much x
