Accommodation on Exmoor cannot be found in a more delightful surroundings than Porlock. Approached via a narrow lane, behind the 13th century church, Marley Cottage is in a secluded yet central location. Dating to the late Victorian era. Approached via a narrow lane, behind the 13th century church, Marley Cottage is in a secluded yet central location. Dating back to the late Victorian era, the cottage is the end terrace of six properties originally built as homes for local boat builders. Recently renovated, Marley Cottage has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished to create an inviting holiday home, with a pretty south facing seating area. To the front, the cottages share a pedestrian right of way for access. One well behaved dog is welcome at the cottage

Excellent base for walking and easy distance from shops, pubs and restaurants. Very clean and kitchen well equipped. Plenty of space for four of us though we could have had six. Wood stove was a bonus but heating was easy and flexible to operate. Very comfortable beds and furniture. We had a great visit.

A great cottage in the heart of Porlock village, cosy fire and all the facilities you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, would highly recommend.

Charming Victorian worker's cottage. Perfect location, set back in a quiet cul de sac, but with a short pedestrian walk through bringing you out into the middle of the high street, close to shops, restaurants etc. Recently redecorated and well cleaned before arrival. Large master bedroom, the other 2 a bit smaller. Downstairs toilet/bathroom, which is convenient during the day but not so good for those that may need to visit during the night. Annette, the local caretaker, was very helpful for answering our questions.

We have just returned from our break at Marley Cottage. The location was beautiful and perfect for walking and exploring the area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for an easy and comfortable stay. The little gifts were also appreciated.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in Marley cottage. Excellent location so we didn’t have to use the car all week. Lovely walks from the door.

The hills of Exmoor surround Porlock on three sides, with the heather covered moors cut by deep, often wooded combes with clear sparkling streams at their base.

In addition, Porlock Bay has received EU awards for the cleanliness of the sea-water. Its unique situation allows Porlock to enjoy a wonderful, warm and soft climate.

Porlock is a traditional Exmoor Village with a long history of settlements existing on or near the site of the existing village, with stone-age remains only a short distance away. It is also a working village with shops supplying all that you need, to be found in the High Street. You will certainly be sure of a friendly Exmoor welcome in them all. This will be echoed in the pubs, hotels and restaurants to be found here.
