Luis was very quick to respond to my (many!) questions, a warm and friendly host, and the bungalows were lovely. I was a little confused by the listing (I didn't realize, for example, that Luis owns essentially a guest house with several private rooms/kitchens with a shared terrace), but the place was really beautiful and comfortable. It was perfectly located (about 6 blocks from the square (so the street is quiet), but only about two blocks from the main walking street where all the shopping, restaurants, and bars are located). Luis suggested activities and offered to help arrange transport. Overall, a very good experience.

I wish that I could review the listing specified here, but I can't because I ended up not actually staying there. My fiancee and I rented this space, but we received a very last-minute e-mail from Luis saying that his secretary had mistakenly booked the room for an entire month for someone else. My working theory is that this was actually no mistake and that because the apartment was going to be rented for a month by the new guest instead of a couple of days, he decided he couldn't pass up the opportunity and just told us that his secretary made a mistake to cover it up. Whether this theory is true or not matters little as the extra room he put us in was dismal. It was small enough to be a college dorm room and almost as bad. I immediately noticed several things about it. It had two windows that looked onto the street, neither of which were very well covered. The bath was not a full bathroom but rather only had a small stand-up shower with a curtain around it and it was not exactly convenient for bathing (at least there was hot water). Since someone with a small chlld and a dog was living next door to us, privacy was not guaranteed and we could hear every sound they made at many times of the day. It had more of a hostal-like feel to it, complete with some kind of biting bug, be it fleas or bed bugs, that attacked my fiancee while she slept. The kitchen was mostly prepared for travelers, but it was obvious that it didn't typically get used as there were not even matches to be found to light the burners. Luis was nowhere to be found for most of the two days we were there so we were unable to communicate any of these problems to him. Overall, we had a very frustrating experience in the extra unit. I am sure that if we had actually stayed in the original room we rented it would have been an entirely different story. Moral of the story: If you rent this room, be prepared to be moved out of it last-minute. If that happens, just refuse to stay in the extra unit, get a refund from airbnb and stay somewhere else. The $450.00 Pesos/night Luis charges for the extra unit could be better spent at one of the hotels on Real de Guadalupe or closer to the city center. This $450.00 Peso/night charge is definitely too high as we could have gotten a private room closer to the city center in a nicer hotel for this amount. The house is called "Casa de la Vista," but unless you enjoy a hostal-like experience with little privacy, biting bugs, and being moved out of your room, say "Hasta la vista" to it and go find a different place.

We really enjoyed our days in San Cristóbal, and this place was perfect for us: big, comfortable, and with a great kitchen, where we prepared home made meals, which helped us to save some money. Location is also great, we went walking to the center (just a few blocks, a ten minute walk or less) and we never had to take a bus. But the most important thing is that Luis and Silvana were great hosts. They received us with a big smile and we had a wonderful conversation!! We wish we had more time for being there with them. Luis gave us some great advice and recommendations about things to do in San Cristobal. We really enjoyed doing what he told us: eating at L'Arrabiata (best pasta place in San Cristóbal) or eating at Comida Thai (best thailand food!). Thanks Luis and Silvana, we look forward to going to your place soon! We highly recommend this place, safe, comfortable, and great location.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The apt and property were very safe and secure, and super clean, with good lighting, large and comfy beds, and a convenient kitchen. We especially liked the location- a ten minute walk from the town center, and a half a block from a beautiful little plaza. Many nice little comedors, and groceries close by- a very nice neighborhood! We loved the very friendly atmosphere- Luis and his staff were very welcoming, and the other guests were quite interesting. In fact, we liked it so much, we decided to spend an extra week. It was very interesting to live in a neighborhood and experience the lively atmosphere. At times things got a little nosiy (one day a funeral next door played loud music all day- but for us that was the charm of the place- life going on all around.) The apartment was nice and private, had a nice sitting area, and if you went up to the main patio- there were great views of the city. Our two sons stayed in a double room, up one level from the apartment, and that was very nice too. We greatly recommend Casa La Vista.
