It was advertised that the swimming pool could be used year round. That led me to believe it was heated. One of the main reasons for choosing this place was so I could use the pool for exercise. I have bad knees and the water is my best place to exercise. The water was freezing cold, a person would need a wet suit to swim in it. Come to find out from the pool guy, heat was turned off in Nov. We felt misled on this. The condo itself was okay. Smaller than we expected. The worst part was the bedroom. There are very bright lights outside in the walk way. Even with the blinds pulled, it beams in the window, making it hard to sleep. The cleaning lady ( who was very nice) came & taped black fabric, which helped, but kept falling down. The sliding doors to bedroom are nosy & let light in from the TV if one person goes to bed early. Not a good situation. TV was giving us trouble upon arrival, but thanks to Laura, she got us a new TV & got it all set up. The place is better for just one person.
Mark and Laura were great!! The apartment was super clean and cozy, we had everything we needed for our small family of 3! Great location, near UTC the beach and great places To eat Thanks for all the attentions!!
Mark's place is in an excellent location with close proximity to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Mendocino Farms, and more. My dog loved our walks - there is an awesome neighborhood park just down the street. La Jolla Shores is a quick drive away. The bed is very comfortable, and I was able to work well from the kitchen table. The place needs some updating, but Mark is very responsive and flexible. Neighbors are super nice and it's overall a great community.
Had a great stay at marks. The location was nice and quiet, with cookware to make some great dinners, a shared pool and jacuzzi, and smart TV. It was nice and clean upon arrival, with extra fresh linens and blankets. Would definitely stay again. Thanks mark!
Our family stayed here for an extended time and it was quite enjoyable! The pool/ hot tub made us feel like we were at a resort with very reasonable pricing.

Mark is a Senior Citizen and life-long career travel agent who appreciates his guests' patronage. He is a La Jolla local and lives just 10 minutes from the UCSD adjacent condominium (Mark's Place). As such, he is always available to answer questions, accommodate requests, or resolve issues. As your host, and in partnership with Airbnb, he is at your service! Mark enjoys French food and loves to read and write during his time off-work. His favorite places to visit are France and Italy, particularly drawn to Paris, Venice, and Florence.
