Chateau d'Urtubie is amazing and I 100% recommend staying here! It is a gorgeous historic building. I wanted to particularly mention that the owner and castle receptionists all spoke very good English. All of the staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The owner spent a lot of time personally showing me the historic rooms of the castle and making sure I had everything I needed. For example, he recommended walking into the historic town of Urrugne (10 minute walk to the town centre) for a meal and also mentioned there is a Michelin star restaurant literally in the paddock adjacent to the castle. I gather there are approximately 10 rooms for visitors which are located on the second and third floors of the castle. My room was spacious, comfortable bed, modern en-suite bathroom (separate toiled). I had everything I needed. Breakfast (additional fee) was delicious - includes drinks, meats, cheeses and freshly baked croissants. Notably, I travelled here without a car so I used the local bus (stops in Hendaye, Urrugne, Ciboure, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Guéthary, Bidart, Biarritz, Anglet and Bayonne). The closest stop is Larouletta which is a 5 minute walk to the front door of the castle. I hope that one day I get the opportunity to come back here.

An absolutely lovely lodging experience! Chateau d'Urtubie has been family-owned since its construction in the 14th century. Daily tours allow the public to view some special rooms; but the owner gives you a private tour, along with an orientation to restaurants, beaches, sites, etc. in the area. All the staff was attentive & friendly! Our ensuite room was historically, well- appointed, with a lovely view over the grounds. Breakfast (fee) is delicious, the gardens, outbuildings, & refreshing pool absolutely lovely. and it is perfectly located between Biarritz & San Sebastian, near the lovely port town of Saint Jean de Just. We look forward to our next stay! Merci bien!

Un cadre magnifique et un lieu plein de charme. Monsieur De Coral nous a fait visiter les lieux en retraçant l'histoire familiale avec passion. Super pour un séjour romantique !
