Apartment in the historic archeological part of Sant'Antioco, with a terrace where you can have dinner under the moon. What people like about my apartment: the old furniture, the way I decorated the house and especially the terrace. What people like less: the bedroom with wooden floor faces the street so you can hear some cars passing by, but luckily the street is one way only and we are in a quiet area of the town. Moreover the other bedroom is very silent and quiet. The apartment is composed by a big double bedroom, a smaller internal double bedroom whose window brings to the living room, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen with living room and a big terrace where you can have dinner and cook your food in the barbecue if you want. In the bedroom with wooden floor there is air conditioning. This is a very old building and I tried to keep as many original things as I could, because they remind me of my childhood at my grandmother's house. In walking distance you can find the museum, the ancient church with catacombs and all the archeological sites of the town, the archeological area is literally behind the corner! On Friday nights there are tours of this area that start around 9,00 pm (you buy the tickets at the ethnographic museum), I think this area is very charming especially at night so I highly recommend this tour. The nearest beach is 6 km away, but the island is not so big so every beach is near, on the south east and north west of the island there are sandy beaches and on the south west there are rocks, it is very nice going snorkeling there, and the rocks are very smooth becuse of the winter waves! Every monday and thursday around 11,30 in the morning Mr. Carmelo stops his van right in front of the door and sells fresh fruit and vegetables that come from the Villacidro area and are very delicious. During the summer you con enjoy the beutiful sea and many festivals, (at the end of August and beginning of September there are some famous jazz and blues festivals in towns nearby). In spring and autumn you can go hiking and trekking and discover the beautiful scenery and the archeological sites hidden in the countryside. Two weeks after Easter on Monday there is the festival of the town. During the winter it is the right place if you want to relax, discover the archeological spots of the island and stay away from crowded places. The winter here is cold but sunny, so if you come from northern Europe you can have a break from the dark even during winter. This house is also a good base for going kite surfing in Punta Trettu. I would recommend coming to Sant'Antioco in June and September, this months are the best because you can enjoy the beautiful beaches when they are almost empty, it is so peaceful and relaxing. The hot weather usually lasts until the end of October. I also like winter in my island, it is the most peaceful moment of the year and the sun shines also during cold days! This house was built at the end of 1800 by my grand grand grand parents and it was also my grandmother's house, this is why it has a big sentimental value to me and I find it very charming. Everything here is a childhood memory and I feel like every single piece of this house tells a story about a time we come from, but that can be experienced only through stories told by elder people.
