Great spot right on the sea, overlooking a tidal estuary so weather watching is spectacular...because the place is right on the water, getting down to it is a challenge as you have to park above and trek your stuff down over a rocky uneven road that in the with steep stairs, so best plan is to arrive in the daylight and if you can't make it then, definitely have a good flashlight and waterproof footwear (if you're visiting in the winter) so just a bit of caution BUT WELL WORTH IT ! The place is 15 minutes driving distance to the fabled artists colony St. Ives which is such a charming cobbled town with winding lanes, twee shops, one sweet shop after another with fudge and more fudge, tea rooms offering the famous Cornish cream teas (don't leave without having that treat) AND the St. Ives Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth sculpture garden are amazing and a Must! We also loved nearby Penzance for all and sundry, have a hearty snack or pasty in the Cornish Hen there, ....most impressive of all and not to be missed is a visit to Mount St. Michael which rivals its sister in Normandy France and is mindblowingly gorgeous.... you can visit the castle via an amphibious water vehicle (good fun) when the tide is in, and walk back over the causeway once the tide is out, into the charming town of Marazion for a mulled wine in the Godolphin hotel with a front row view of the Mount, awesome! Also very close by is the National Trust's Godolphin House originally built in the 1400's, an exquisite building actively being restored, you will step into the distant past when you go there, then come back to reality in their cozy cafe....also Lizard Point for the great sweeping views of the Cornwall coast one has heard of...great storm watching there and the infinite possibility that one might spy Ross Poldark galloping by any minute!

Exceptional place at a exceptional location. A hidden gem in Cornwall. The pictures on the web are already very nice but the reality is much better. Seeing is believing.

Wonderful week at The Ferry House. Fabulous location right on the shore which gave us easy access for walks. The children loved the pool and the adults loved the hot tub, both great touches to make the week even more special. The walk to the house from where you park the car is along a coastal path so pack sensibly as you have to carry your belongings down (and back up) the sandy path. However this walk was more than outweighed by the tucked away location by the sea. Everything you need is here and 5 mins drive away is a Tesco’s for food. We ventured to St Ives to explore which is 10 mins away by car and enjoyed walking round the streets and watching the surfers on the beach. Fabulous break, would love to come back.
