Traditional B&B full of antiques with delicious breakfasts and colorful historical tales from our host! Bed was very comfortable. Joe and Susan were easy-going and very accommodating when we asked if our college student daughter could join us and stay for breakfast.

I was a little hesitant about an airbnb/B&B, because I have experienced some rigid and prickly B&B proprietors in the time before airbnb. Sue and Joe were about as opposite from that as you can imagine. They contacted me ahead of time with a code to get into the house and my room in spite of my flight's late arrival. They were super accommodating -- my niece at Oberlin College stayed with me overnight and not only did they include her in the amazing breakfasts, but they carefully negotiated time preferences among 3 sets of guests, handled individual food restrictions, and provided doggie bags for the fresh baked goods they make EVERY DAY. The interaction among the hosts and guests of the 3 beautiful rooms at breakfast every morning was a really lovely part of this visit (unexpectedly so, to an introvert like me). In an almost-Victorian setting, the fun and far-ranging conversations were a wonderful wake-up every morning. I will be back in the fall and won't consider another place.

My sister and I, visiting from Kansas City, enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at the 1830 Hallauer House Bed and Breakfast. It was a beautiful home with such an interesting history. I was in town visiting my daughter who is a student at Oberlin College and this was a perfect 10 minute drive to campus. Susan and Joe were the perfect hosts! Everything was as described and they were so welcoming and friendly. We even learned so much about the history of Oberlin and its heritage. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a beautiful table scape, as well.

We loved our stay. We visited our Oberlin student and had a lovely visit. We really used the amenities (jacuzzi! pool table!), enjoyed our tasty breakfast, and had a good time with the hosts and other guests. The room was very well appointed with toiletries and snacks. We will recommend it to others and stay again! Thank you!
