We had a great stay at Narayan Niwas Castle. The place seems authentic and is very charming. Thakur Maheshwar was a great host. He gave us very detailed instructions and answered all of our questions before we arrived and when we were there. The instructions were in English for us, and his staff communicated with our driver in Hindi, making sure everything is clear for everyone.

I had a very good time as a guest here. My room was large and I really felt like I was a guest of the royal family. Please keep in mind it’s a very old castle and that’s the whole charm of staying here, not necessarily as a luxury resort. Thakur ji also organised for a guide to help me explore the village. Overall an excellent experience here.

We had a great experience. Our Airbnb was no doubt a great place to stay, but the rest of the experience was just as amazing. Starting from the facilities and food to the warm welcome we received. We were picked up from the train station. We got much more than we could have hoped for in every dimension. I would highly recommend a stay here if you can add it to you itinerary.

Mahansar Castle is a property that should be on the bucket list of anyone travelling to Rajasthan. Thakur Saheb is a host par excellence and his wife is his strength in this endeavour. The fort/ castle is authentic and unspoilt where one can enjoy an amazing sunset from the topmost viewpoint. The experience of staying in an actual fort is a bit surreal to say the least. The food cooked in the home kitchen is a gourmet’s delight, authentic and sumptuous, served with respect and love. Overall a must visit point in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Since it is an actual fort it’s a heritage lovers’ paradise. Those seeking the thrills and frills of the numerous self proclaimed “resorts” maybe a tad disappointed.
